I know we have Brighton first but to an extent our selection v Brighton should be influenced by our likely team v City.

Lloris

Trippier Dier Vertonghen Rose

Dembele Winks

Eriksen Lamela Son

Kane

Has to be 3 at back.
3-5-2
Dier vertonghen Davies
Trip lamela winks eriksen Rose
Kane Son

Was considering dembele for Lamela. But think this is all but quick transition on counter and dembele will slow that down.

Same team I picked for Brighton :)

Keep solid and play on the break definitely don't go chasing the game.. similar tactics to Real Madrid, Liverpool and Dortmund which also have dangerous attacking philosophy.

Lloris
Trippier Dier Vertonghen Davies
Lamela Winks Dembele Eriksen
Kane Son

Dunno why anyone would bother typing Lamela's name for this lineup. Not a chance he's either a) starting his first game in over a year away at Man City or b) if he starts against Brighton starting two games in three days.

As mentioned before. Sit deep, deny Sane and Sterling space to run into, limit the channels that KDB can play the ball into and expose their defence on the break.

This is a free swing. No pressure at all everyone will expect us to lose. Be glorious if we could do them. We will be everyones heroes :ROFLMAO:

KDB in particular is the man we have to stop, he's just so instrumental to the way they attack, he's there attacking engine and hub.

Keep Dembele fresh for man marking him imo.

Probably going to need our pacey full backs for this one.

Might even be worth playing Trips against Brighton.

Think aurier and rose have to start this one.

Hopefully jan doesn't get a yellow (or red) at brighton (wouldn't even play him tbh) otherwise we're properly fucked.

Lloris
Aurier dier Jan Rose
Winks Dembele
Eriksen lamela son
Kane
Lamela has to start. Bring dele on for him after 60 or so. Sissoko could be very important as well, we might need to bring him on as an outlet.

Personally I think Poch will play:

Lloris

Aurier
Dier
Vertonghen
Rose

Dembele
Winks

Eriksen
Dele
Son

Kane

Lamela won't start yet imo. You'll probably see him start against Southampton on boxing day I reckon.

Will be interesting to see if Poch will just rotate for rotation sake, or is he going to make decisions from a more tactical point of view this week.

You would think Aurier and Rose would be more suited to countering City's electric attack.

Thus playing Trippier and Davies again against Brighton.

Interesting to see what Poch does.

Yep- 532 like the scousers and Madrid. Although Sanchez out is a problem for this formation

Either:

532 (Defend 541)

oboiQ9w.jpg

Vorm, Tripps, Dier, Dembele, Sissoko, Alli, GKN

or

433 (Defend 451)

NjQ5Rmc.jpg

Vorm, Tripps, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Sissoko, GKN

We need Foyth's recovery pace for this, imo. Sane is no joke.

Play with high intensity. Counter with fury. They'll give us space.

Let them fear our weapons.

Not too sure about playing Dembele in this game, I get the feeling he'll play similarly to how he did against Dortmund and RM, whereby he struggles to keep up with the tempo of the game and ends up kicking people
