The more I think about 433 the more I like it given our current squad.I think it gives us so much flexibility with players. We have 4 players who could play the single pivot Dier wanyama winks Onomah not including dembele as basically don’t think he can do it as NLD and Leicester last season showed. We then have 7 players who can play either side of the single pivot Eriksen dele winks dembele sissoko Onomah Lamela. And suddenly CM doesn’t feel like we have limited options. Also I think it leaves slightly lesser players like sissoko less exposed, I’d hate to see him in a 2. Also for me it means you can introduce younger players like Amos Skipp TOB with less pressure than being in a 2.

Kane was leggy at the World Cup. He rushed back from injury last season and wasn't so sharp. It's a testament to his quality he still scored goals but I didn't like the Harry at WC 18 and the end of last season who was loitering about isolated and ineffective. We won at Stamford Bridge without him. We don't have to flog him as much as we do.

You say all he needs now is to be built up. Other players have had more of a pre season. More fitness built up over intensive training practices and non competitive matches. In the PL it will be harder to get up to speed during games because they are competitive and defenders will target him. It's not that basic. If Harry pulled up Poch would have been blamed for taking that risk.
He may have looked a bit off the pace at the world cup although there's a lot more to it than fitness. The humidity, the long travelling across the largest country in the world, the nervous energy of being at the world cup. He didn't look any more leggy than a lot of the England players particularly as the tournament went on. It just annoys me that everytime he doesn't play a blinder it's because he's worn out. It's nonsense. Besides he is well rested now and if you think he needs more than 3 weeks to recover than I guess you're not very clued up on physical fitness.

I agree. I worry he might burn out if he doesn’t spend some time recovering. He looked tired today and did so at the WC. If he can get through the next two games and then rest for the international week that’d be good because I can’t see him being rested before then.
I also think we need to persist with Moura, he needs time to bed in with the first xi, many of whom were absent during preseason

Agreed. I don’t think you need a classic destroyer in a CM 3.

I like the idea of

Eriksen-winks-Dele
Lucas-Kane-son

Or

Dembele-Winks-Josh
Eriksen-Kane-Dele

With our current squad I think it makes a lot more sense than 4-2-3-1 at this stage. Guess we'll see if Poch goes for it though.
I think when everyone is back and fit, we will see the 433. That is the formation Poch used for most of the summer. But, none of the WC players had much training time, and now Son is gone for a few weeks - with Lamela injured, that limits our options up front.

Dier
Eriksen Dele
Lucas Kane Son

When everyone is fit. Lamela can slot in for Lucas, and Dele can play in Son's role with Winks and/or Dembele playing in the CM role.

Wow some of the comments are unbelievable! The team have had no preseason for crying out loud! The purpose of the preseason is to develop fitness first and then match sharpness/shape/tactics etc. When the team don't get that, it will show in performances. It showed in today's performance!

As they train during the week and play matches they will improve. There is no need to rest anybody on the basis that they played poorly today. We play the best players we have available and build from there.

YES! Play with 12 men, that should definitely get the better of Fulham.

Will Onomah and winks be back for this one or maybe a bit later? Could use them in the middle.

Yep, playing 12 just isn't fair. We need to make it a level playing field and add Sissoko to the line up.

KWP over Aurier any time ; Aurier has no football brain and the most obvious tell was on sat when there where at least five players closer to Kennedy than Aurier was and his man to mark was Kennedy
Im sure you know the incident I'm talking about but this is not an isolated incident

Not sure about 3 at the back (CBs)

It's more stable, but you end up sacrificing an attacking player and since we're short of a little creativity in CM, I think overall we'll end up creating less chances

It'd work if our full-backs were creative, but I don't believe Davies is all that great going forward (solid enough full-back though)
