He would have been back for the Stoke game next week.
He got 6 games. He's been out for 5 so far. League cup and domestic cup games count. So if we had a league cup fixture, he'd be back for the Liverpool match. Right now, he'll be back for the Stoke match when the PL returns on the 10th.

In my count he's been out for 4 games only. Last two games after Chelsea and Everton+ CP

I don't know, maybe the fact that every time we've visibly and tangibly diverted from it, we've looked even better? We've done overall good in that shite formation, yes. But our worst have been in that formation, and our best have been frequently after noticeable changes.

Love this.
Interesting that you say our recent most successful period league wise has come playing in a shit 4231 formation . Pochettinho is not a stubborn or unflixible manager and if you actually watch how interchangeable 4231 is during game play I think you'd appreciate the system more.

What are the 5 matches he's missed so far then?

Janssen needs to start ahead of Eriksen I think. Can't be carrying any passengers in the tackle up there.

Eriksen isn't in form but without Dembele he's the only player we've got who is likely to be able to slow the game down at times and control the tempo. The likes of Alli, Lamela, Kane and even Dier will be drawn into the very high tempo that Liverpool will want and that could leave us stretched at the back.

I'd keep faith with Eriksen for that reason, and maybe keep the same XI as against Palace, with Alli on the bench as Janssen has done very well so far and we simply can't start this one without either Kane or Lamela.

We want to control the game and not let Liverpool break out too often.
So back to the norm; Janssen out Alli back in.

I now like the idea that we have 1 or 2 positions that we can rotate every few games. If we make some more signings and get Son involved on the bench, we will have some great options to choose from. It's amazing the difference that signing a striker can make!

After Edwards couple of goals midweek fir the reserves now might be prime time to introduce him, even if off the bench. Big key with youngsters is introducing them when they're confident and brave enough to push themselves, so why not strike while the iron is hot?

Im excited to see what he can do, but I don't think it will be against the dippers that he gets used.

You are to SC what Adrian Durham is to Talksport, you just put controversial stuff out there to get a reaction.

Cue multi-paragraph response justifying each player to be read by nobody but you !

I'm just more surprised he started Walker.

He spent most of the time on his ass in Oz against bigger players who hustled him off the ball quite easily. He needs to eat more steak. A heated game with Liverpool is not the good way to debut in the PL.
