What do you disagree with? We were shit against Girona and all the chances we created against AC Milan were their doing.

The last time we played 433 was against Brighton, and we changed formation at HT. Before that was the away game in one of the cups, which was one of our worst performances of the season. I don't think we play it the way you envisage.

Didn't we change to 433 against Newcastle and win the game?

Will go back and watch the Brighton game...not how I remember it.

I clearly viewed pre-season differently from you...and that's ok.

We both don't have to think it's the solution.

Something like this could be interesting. But it's depending if Lamela is fit. I'm fairly certain Poch will play the same line up as he did against Utd tho. Would be tempted to try Winks and Vic but nether have played 90 mins on forever so against Liverpool is not the time to start. Son won't be fit enough for 90 and Dele could do with some matchs coming off the bench to kick him up a gear.

He'll get targetted and will fuck it for us.

Tripps is now more than capable to start this.

Tripps has totally switched on and is much better positionally.

Up to Poch to manage our FBs and organise cover for them when they fly up.

Really, in this game, we should leave it one-on-one-off unless the game is wide open.

Funny thing is 3 at the back is what we definitely should be playing against Liverpool (like at Wembley last year).
We didn’t lose that game today because we had 3 at the back. We lost because we played utter shit.
I hope Poch does and I’d 100% keep 3 at the back and if everyone is fit and firing this would be my team...

We played a 4312 against Newcastle, 352 that switched to a 4312/4222 against fulham, a 4312 that switched to more of a 4222 against United. and a 352 that switched to whatever the fuck that was meant to be at the end. We might have gone 433 in the dying moments of games, but I'd imagine it didn't last more than 5 minutes across the games.

What kind of 433 do you want to play?

In the first half, the most important thing is to deny them width when they attack.

FB's have to be disciplined and drilled.

Vic has to sit. Just feed the ball to Eirksen/Winks.

And Moura and Son have to slot in if Eriksen and Winks get sucked out.

Work hard in the first half and look to counter with our weapons and then if the game opens up we can take more risks.

Mousa's clearly about to go on a 'lemme give this ball to the opposition' run and I'd look to cut it short and have him come into the game from the bench if need be.

We've seen him do this before and it's not pretty.

Winks looks hungry af and I'd utilise the fire and energy he's got in him atm - it'd be infectious.

We need to be high-energy in this game throughout the park.

Totally agree with you. I also liked your team. Though I would choose Davies over Rose and Dier ahead of Wanyama…Both Vic and Danny are rusty with no game time and thought Danny was i lucky not to be a liability against Man U, though improved second half. Think Son will be too knackered and will play off the bench if anything. Im tempted to drop Eriksen as he was the poor today. I would go...

Id be tempted to play Lamela if fit. We need more desire in the team, it is infectious and a team with Winks, Lamela and Lucas in it is one i want to see. Alli i think deserves his place. Eriksen only keeps his on history, but him and dembele were our worst performers today.

I think Vic struggles with this, he's a hunter IMO. Roams to hunt his prey.

Depends who our opponents are.

Pretty sure there decent enthusiasm for 433 in the pre-season match threads.
