Yep. Completely bizarre. If we win tomorrow, it'll be our biggest win in the last 9 years.
Nah, according to my painfully intelligent West Ham-supporting mates, not winning tomorrow would be "embarrassing" because Real Madrid "aren't what they used to be." :banghead:

You should have responded by asking them whether Crystal Palace have suddenly became realistic hard to beat Premier League title challengers on account of them reeling the Spammers back in from 2-0 down and followed it up by saying that if they are using that strange logic, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if by the same token your Spammer mates are going to claim that they are Champions League winners by some indirect default because they beat us a week after our 1-1 draw away which means to them that they beat a so called weakened Real Madrid.

I mean if they are so fanciful enough to claim they won the entire World Cup in 1966, qualifying rounds included without the aid of an excellent squad, which included Bobby Charlton and Gordon Banks and the tactical input of Sir Alf Ramsey who incidentally learned his footballing philosophy under the tutelage of our very own Arthur Rowe, then these Spammers will claim anything, and they have the brass neck to claim that we have ideas and achievements well above our station !!!!

If we allow Kane to join up with England we're a joke. No way would other clubs allow it after him recently missing games because of injury.

He will 100% be allowed to join up with England. We love helping the England team with no benefit to ourselves and Kane will be desperate to play.

Reckon Poch has got pulling Kane out of the England games very much in his mind.

No chance he won't go away with England for 2 reasons. 1. Southgate wouldn't give him a break. 2. Kane will want to play.

I'd rather he stayed with us though obviously.

I am going to be honest, I don't think it's worth risking Kane at all, genuinely, if he ends up doing his hammy even more and then is out for months on end we will seriously be in big trouble.

We already have teams breathing down our neck for the top four spots in the PL and whilst I don't think we are a one man team, if you remove 20+ goals from our side well, it's pretty obvious what will happen.

Also, the narrative is already starting that Real Madrid "Are there for the taking" because of their recent loss in their domestic league.

People seem to forget that even Madrids second team could probably win the PL, one flaky result and a bad start to the season doesn't mean they are suddenly shit but you know, according to the media we should beat them lol.

Back to my point however, I know Harry will want to be involved but you have to ask yourself, is it worth it? What if we get into the knockout stages of the CL and Kane is still out injured just because we risked him for this game?

I think people who starting rose for tomorrow are being incredibly harsh on Davies. Ben has been fantastic this calendar year, even more so this season and 100% deserves to start tomorrow.

He hasn't been a little twat like Danny has, he has been a model pro and and waited for his opportunity to play week in week out for us and has taken it with both hands.

Rose is back fit but he does not deserve to start ahead of Davies at the moment, so it boggles my mind why some people are picking him ahead of Ben.

Poch seems to think that Kane is fully fit so he'll play him, don't see it as a risk at all in that case.

Agree, Davies and Rose are at a very similar level now, but Davies deserves to start on merit. (And also because he's my adopt-a-player ;))

Rose has done nothing since returning to suggest he should be winning the shirt back from Davies. And we shouldn’t be expecting to - it’ll be Christmas before he gets anywhere near up to speed.

I want the best team at all times. I dont care who plays out of Davies or Rose as long as it is the better choice based on merit and fitness, and only Poch can make that decision. No sentiments should be involved

Really do like that team and love the strength in depth: Davies, Winks, Son, Wanyama (injured of course), to name a few

Just not sure we should be risking Kane. I would have to have serious assurances from him that he's fit to play. Hamstring injuries really should not be treated lightly given how fast the game is played. Also Harry does have a quick burst of acceleration which could be an issue for it.

He hardly broke into a sprint against West Ham. He's miles off his best form before he got injured, at the moment.

That will only give him two games with us before he joins Manu!

Rose should start ahead of Davies not because he deserves to. He doesn’t. He should start this match because he’s the best option vs. Madrid and his pace down the wings will be invaluable this match.

Lloris
Toby Sanchez Vertongen
Aurier Dier Winks Rose
Eriksen
Kane Llorente

Llorente ahead of Alli & Son because his hold up play will be useful and he seems to always perform against Madrid. I could give a shit who “deserves” to start, I just want to see the best possible team put on the field against these fucks.

Based on what I saw of him against West Ham last week which was essentially his first proper start (from the first minute) I'm not convinced the pace that he did have pre-injury gives him the advantage he had pre-injury over Ben Davies is there at the moment, if it is it certainly wasn't on show last week. Logically, why would he be up to that level of fitness and sustained pace at this stage of his of his recovery? All manner of common sense suggests that would nearly always be the case for anyone returning after such a long lay off. Even if I'm wrong and Poch selects him in front of Davies, he clearly wouldn't last the full 90 mins and I wouldn't be surprised to see him replaced after 60 mins, not least because anyone selected will have to have peak levels of fitness and concentration to match Real Madrid.

Incidentally I know it's going slightly off topic, but let's face facts, everyone who plays for us in this game will have to play an absolute blinder tonight for us to get a draw or a win because if I'm honest, I don't buy into this media bollocks that Real Madrid have suddenly become a severely weakened and depleted side overnight. They will be incredibly difficult to be beat and they will have a massive point to prove.

I agree, cannot see Rose starting this. Still seemed well off the pace against West Ham, and think it will be a while yet still, before he's really firing. For now, and the foreseeable, Davies is no.1 in that position.

I'm interested to see how we might go in the middle and up top.

The back 6 is very likely to be Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen with Aurier and Davies as wing backs.

But in the middle with Dembele seemingly back fit, and Alli returning from suspension there are some big decisions to make.

Do we stick with Winks who has performed so well? Does Dier move back into midfield? Does Sissoko remain in the side in order to offer a little more directness from the middle?

Then you have similar issues further forward. Kane seems in line to start. Do we play two up top again? Does Son keep a place? Alli?

I have no idea.
