Lamela on the bench would be a huge positive.

His trickery and vision could be vital in the last 15 minutes.
I think we may be expecting too much of him too soon. I hope we get the Lamela of 2016 but he'll likely need to get up to speed with things again.

poch was supper illusive about him, sounds like he's still a good few weeks away. Maybe after international break

We were at full strength against Utd away last season and came away with nothing:

Lloris, Rose, Toby, Verts, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane

Mourinho nullified the threats, which makes me think we'll not miss Kane, Wanyama and Dembele as much as we think. (plus Walker gone too)

I'm going with the reverse psychology that by being slightly weaker, we'll come away with a point!

Son Alli Eriksen
Dier Dembele/Winks
Davies Aurier
Verts Sanchez Toby
Lloris
Front 3 can run around wherever.
Prefer Dembele but Winks if he's not ready.
Might actually be bit more space without Kane as Utd might be bit more daring but highly unlikely. Just dont lose will be Maureens game plan as usual.
Will Sissoko start? Wouldn't surprise me.

With Kane out I'd probably stick Winks in midfield instead of Dier and have Son up top. Don't really know though, be interesting to see what Poch does.

I think if llorente starts you need Son behind him as he wont do the running in the final third. Llorente dropping deeper to hold up the ball with Son on the overlap would likely create more as per the Liverpool game. So I would either start Son as a striker or drop Dembele and pull Alli deeper and put Son on behind Llorente.

Difficult choices to make on top...think we need someone to hold the ball up and fear we'll be too light weight without llorente...

The way to beat them is pace on the break.Id try and fit as much pace as possible in front 5.Almost be tempted to squeeze Danny Rose in somewhere that wasn’t LWB.maybe in a 3 in midfield.Woukd give us some bit in there and pace on counter.

I go with the same team that played so well against Liverpool sans Kane and putting in a true LB

HL
TA DS JV
SA CE HW DA BD
HMS FL

For me we have the ability to work the ball around the pitch with this side and for a team that may just park the bus and play a conservative game, we need the ball to move quickly. FL and HMS could really work their back line.

What expect though is something more like this :

HL
TA DS JV
SA MS HW CE BD
DA FL

I'd start different side but I reckon it'll be:

Lloris
Sanchez Alderweireld Vertonghen
Aurier Dier Dele Davies
Eriksen
Son Llorente

Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Sissoko, Winks, Dembele, GKN

I'll take a draw here and run. I'm still holding out a false sense of hope that Poch is playing mind games though.
