This will be another grind, it's what Benitez does, and who could blame him in these circumstances.

Oh Jesus another one “we’ll batter them” have you been watching our team lately? We haven’t been battering anyone but our fans with horrendous displays of apathy!
We need to be strong and work hard and not take anyone for granted and go out there and do a professional job that the fans can be proud of.
Or you know we could be supporters & have belief in a team that has given us so much enjoyment over last 3 seasons & not be fickle fucks.. alright we have been fatigued. .so have other teams..small margins..Lamela puts chance way..we go we weren't great but far from awful.. we have good players believe in them instead of been an overreactional child

Would play that same team but Son for Lamela. After seeing Poch’s post game I think he might actually play his most aggressively offensive team he has and that involves our two best 1v1 dribblers

Son’s frazzled my brain recently. He’s capable of doing the sublime and fucking up the simple. He has phases where he’s almost unplayable then he can go 4 weeks without controlling the fucking ball. And I just can’t be doing with watching him piss about right now.

And I know Lamela can fuck about too, but at least he presses and tackles properly, which I think we’ve been lacking.

Assuming Verts and Dembele injured...

What Poch will do:

If Verts is injured I can see him playing Dier as a CB alongside Sanchez. Kane will start.

Lloris
Trippier Dier Sanchez Davies
Wanyama Eriksen
Lamela Dele Son
Kane

What I would do*:

I’d drop Kane (unfit and out of form) and play Lamela as a false 9 (as we did against Bournemouth and Chelsea 2nd half). Moura has earnt a start with half a dozen brilliant cameos form the bench, and Dele needs to show discipline and maturity to play as an 8 instead of a 10.

Lloris
Trippier Sanchez Aldereiweld Davies
Wanyama Dele
Moura Eriksen Son
Lamela

* Poch knows a lot more than me about football.

Imagine the boost it would give the Newcastle players not seeing Kane in our starting XI.

He plays.

If they’d watched Smalling dominate him at Wembley, and Brighton and WBA smother him, they’ll be keeping their fingers crossed that he starts! He is unfit and a liability and offers no threat behind and is unable to sprint or put a shift in in terms of press. It’s like we are playing with 10 men.

Do you think that part of the problem is that he’s isolated against 2 centrebacks all game. I’d be playing with a second striker up there to help him out. He’s using up too much energy trying to dominate 2 players at the moment and doesn’t seem to be able to play his normal game.

I don't reckon that there will be any major changes in the line-up. Aurier and Davies in for Tripp and Rose and maybe Jan will see this match from the bench.
Hoping for Lucas to start and Eriksen drop deep alongside Wanyama

I like that some of you lot week after week put KWP in the starting line-up despite the fact that he haven't played any matches in the PL since Huddersfield in september '17 :X3:

Well... this is fun. Of all the teams we'd need to beat to get Champions League at the end of the season, I'd least want to face Newcastle and Leicester, both of 'em being bogey teams for us.

But he didn’t put it away and that is the point, every week we are NOT doing something, passing well, tackling well, having vision, putting them away, finishing the game off, mistakes at the back. You name it we are doing them all, and we have been doing them for a while.
If you look at my posts I have been talking about this for months, so this is not a current overreaction, in fact given our form it isn’t an overreaction of any kind. We blew a 10 point lead and after Chelski’s win yesterday are in real risk of loosing our CL spot. How is that that being an “overreactional child”
I would say there is a thin line between people who have faith in their team and unrealistic blind faith.
Yes we all want our teams to play well, I do too! But the reality is we are not and as such we are at risk of blowing it.
You talk about having faith in your team, your manager, but they have to earn it surly, otherwise isn’t that “blind faith”. I don’t believe our team and manager have deserved our faith of late, and THAT is why I have such little confidence in us getting the job done
Unfortunately you would have to say, Chelski Have got the job done, everyone wrote them off yesterday. But once again they got the job done.
They will win there last two games, I say that because they have shown the desire to win. We have not!

I doubt Mopo will give KWP a run in these last two games.
I don't see him playing both Moura and Lamela as well...
I also think he will drop Dier in defense or put him in midfield.

We are playing the same way we've played all season - only difference is Kane's fitness and form. He bullied Smalling and Jones with his strength, movement and vision in the league game against them. In the cup semi he was slow, static and generally well off the pace (as he has been in every game since). I'd love to see stats for distance covered, number of sprints, average sprint speed for Kane since he came back as I reckon they would show he is well off his usual performance.

If Jan and Mousa are injured, put Toby and Eric in there instead. Make it so.

I fear you may be right on all counts.
