After he scored the winning goal don’t think there’s a chance Llorente doesnt start this. Plus with our reluctance to perform in first halves it’s not the worst thing having at least one sub who’s shown ability to impact games.

Lloris
KWP Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Winks
Lucas Eriksen Son
Llorente

Gazzaniga, Foyth, Sanchez, Wanyama, Sissoko, Roles, Lamela

I’d play Son, Lucas and Lamela up front, but Poch will undoubtedly pick Llorente. He’ll be confident, but all the fluency of the team goes out the window when we try to play to suit his strengths.

Sanchez will definitely get bundled off the ball by Rondon if he plays. I don't know what it is about Sanchez as I don't actually think he's weak, but he always seems to come off worse when he tries to go shoulder to shoulder with certain players.

for the love of God...

4-2-3-1 PLEASE!!!!!!!

no more back 3, we seem very off balance with a back 3. most teams play 1 up top. so having 3 centre backs just gives us so little options up top.

Why are people resting Son, we don’t play again after Newcastle for 8 days, he can have a rest then! ?

Quite simply, this is probably one of the most important games of the season now. Win this and as long as City do their job (and i fully expect them to) then we'll be at least 9 points clear of 5th with a far superior GD. That gives us the breathing space. I'd like to think that worst case scenario and we lose, thr gap would still stand at 6 from United, but it would be nice going into the final 3rd of the season would a 4 game swing required to fuck it up

They're all important games but you do feel this one carries a bit more importance given we have the chance to heap the pressure on the two above us.

Makes sense, he finally gets a goal that counts & gets us 3 points, so leave him out, seriously!

It's a mix between not wanting to overload him with more minutes so soon, given that the plan wasn't to have him go the whole 90 against Watford and our current luck with injuries. If we can somehow perform well without Son starting ( potentially getting minutes of the bench instead) and then add in the 8 days or so rest until Leicester, we can reduce some of that workload and ease him back.

Rondon caught Sanchez once in mid stride. If it happened again I'd put money on Rondon ending up in the third row of the stand.

I dont particularly like llorente leading the line but we have to give him a chance. If he cant perform after auch big confidence boost v watford then id say its curtains closed for him! But we have to give that chance. Keep son on the bench imo.

----------------Hugo--------------
----------Toby------Jan----------
Aurier-----------------------Rose
--------Winks----Sissoko-------
---Moura-Lamela-Eriksen---
--------------Llorente------------

But im fully expecting dier to start. Im not mich of a fan of his tbh. Biiiig game. We really could do with a solid convincing win 3-0 bit i expect newcastle to be tough to break down.
