No idea why anyone would pick a back 4.we’ve played it once all season against Barnsley.Back 3 is clearly how we play now.

No idea why anybody would criticise people for picking the team they want to see in a thread designed for people to pick the team they want to see.

Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Sissoko, Lamela, Son, Llorente

I hope this is the line-up, but I'm expecting Lloris to be out injured (Vorm in) and either Son or Sissoko to start in place of Dembele, due to match fitness.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dele slot in CM like against Liverpool alongside Dembele. Really don't think we need a true DM against Palace and Winks looked knackered before going off against Madrid. I think Poch might rotate the full-backs as well with Rose getting his first start.

------------------Vorm-------------------
--Sanchez-----Dier----------Jan---
Aurier----Winks---Dele------Rose
-----------------Eriksen----------------
---------Kane-------------Son---------

I really think this would offer the cover needed but provide lots of flexibility and unpredictability in the attack. Davies to play if Rose is not yet deemed match fit.

I’m not sure how many people have noticed this, but Spurs remain undefeated with Davinson Sanchez in our side. We drew his first appearance when he came on as substitute against Burnley. Since then, we are P10 W 8 D2 L0 when he has started.

Put another way, our 3 defeats this season were Chelsea before he joined, the Carabao Cup to West Ham, and last week’s loss to Man United, for both of which he was rested. With him we’ve beaten Everton, Dortmund, West Ham, Apoel, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

So pick Sanchez and any other ten of our squad ;)

Doesn't Sanchez play in the middle, and Dier in the right? Genuine question, as most people have them the other way round.

Want to see him play every game, but would rather see Kane rested in this game, and get a sick note for the England friendlies. Have him firing on all cylinders for the NLD would be ideal. Gruelling schedule ahead in the PL and CL, and he's going to be giving everything - so, I just think, rest the dodgy hamstring for now. Think we have enough with Son, Alli and Eriksen up front, Llorente as sub.

Vorm

Dier Sanchez Verts

Aurier Rose

Winks Dembele/Sissoko

Eriksen
Alli Son

I too would ideally rest Kane. I'd also like him to miss the England games and think a full fortnight break will also keep him fresh for the World Cup as well as our winter. Realistically there is no chance he'd miss those games. I'd also like to rest Winks and Eriksen, two of our hardest working players over the last month or so.

Vorm
Dier-----Sanchez-----Vertonghen
Aurier----------Dembele-----------Rose
Sissoko-----Alli-----Son
Llorente

Subs: GK, Davies, Trippier, Hoyth, Winks, Eriksen, N'Koudou, Kane

I don't think that team would beat a defensive minded opposition like i suspect palace to be. Kane and Eriksen must play

Also, playing Llorente is no point without service. Eriksen and Trippier in particular offer that.

I think the back 5 picks itself. Rotate the wingbacks and drop dier in for Toby.

Midfield is interesting. Is denbele fit enough to start yet? Is winks knackered? Son is fresh and in form so should start. Maybe drop Dele back into midfield 3 to make room for son. Something like:

......................vorm

.........Sanchez dier verts

Serge ...........dembele....,,..Rose
..........eriksen..............Dele
.......................son
.......................Kane

Vorm

Sanchez Dier JV

Aurier Winks Dembele Rose

Eriksen Dele

Kane

Subs: Gazzaniga, Trippier, Davies, Foyth, Sissoko, Son, Llorente

This, except maybe Sissoko instead of Dembele. Would be good to see Aurier and Sissoko together again after their performance in Madrid. Also Sissoko stretches teams by running into the channels which Dembele doesn't.

As has been frequently noted we seem to struggle against teams who park the bus. It would be nice to see us up the tempo a bit from the start, be more direct, commit more to attack.

Just goes to show the strength of our squad when we cant really determine a clear 1st 11. Add to that the flexibility of our squad in terms of formations, then you really cant predict the teamsheet for every game.

Anyone from dier, winks, dembele, sissoko, eriksen or alli can play the 2 CM roles.

Anyone from eriksen, alli, son, sissoko can play the 2 AM roles in a 3421 or 3 AM roles in a 4231.

Anyone from Toby, Jan, Dier, Sanchez can play the 2 or 3 CB roles depending on formation.

And we have Aurier n Trippier, Davies and Rose and even Jan for the FB roles.

Times are good when we have 2 very very good players for each position.

COYS!
