Dembele, Eriksen

Kane

I would keep Dier, Winks on the bench for this. As much as I want to play them , need to give them a rest. I don't want to push Winks too much. Trippier &Davies were atrocious against WestHam. With Rose out injured, I would play KWP in RB and Aurier in LB (only game he played there we won against Liverpool 4-1 in PL). Ideally I would keep Kane out as well, but this is just too important a game...

Is what I think Poch will go with. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Son in place of Moura and Trippier instead of Aurier.

Really don't want Trippier playing v City though. He has not been good enough recently. Sane will rip him a new arsehole.

Lots of people putting Eriksen and Lamela in the same side. Not sure they've ever combined well together, which I've always found strange.

This is simply a must win game, if we are to have any chance of qualifying from the group. That ridicolous loss against Inter away in the last 5 minutes really hurt.

Strongest team possible, which for me would be:

Hugo
Trippier - Sanchez - Alderweireld - Rose (if fit again)
Dier - Dembele
Lamela - Eriksen - Moura
Kane.

I suppose Alli is still out. It's a toss up between Winks and Dembele, but Mousa usually produces in the really big games. If Wanyama were more than half fit, he could get the nod over Dier, but unfortunately it seems he'll never get back to his beastly self from the 16/17 season.

Son to come in from the bench for one of the attacking three, at some point.

Really? I thought the season Leicester won the prem the front 4 of Lamela, Dele, Eriksen and Kane was formidable.

This is going to be like a PL game I think. WE HAVE TO FUCKING WIN. WE MUST WIN. We cannot get out of CL on a whimper

Didnt they play against Juve last year? I recall they did and we didnt do too badly

Id put Son, Moura, Lamela, Eriksen, Kane and Llorente (as Dele is out). Id just hammer them with our attackers.

Do you remember when we played Dembele as only holder against Watford this season and got raped?

And I've not seen evidence to suggest Eriksen can play that deep either.

Dier has to play against them and Man City and then can be rested for the league cup game where hopefully Skipps will start.

Winks depends on his ankle but players want to play in champions league (he can be rotated with Dembele for one of these if needed).

And Lamela on left side and Son on right??

Give Dembele 30 mins so he isn’t going into the City game completely cold. I know Serge isn’t a natural LB but Davies hasn’t looked much like a LB either lately and Serge has pace to deal Lazano more effectively

There is more than enough time between PSV and City to play the strongest xi in both, with West Ham then used to give a rest to, well all of them. After that, that's when Pochettino needs to be clever with the squad for Wolves, PSV home (assuming there's still a point to it) and Palace in the space of a week before the international break. As such, for this I'd and subject to injuries/ performances I'd go:

Lloris
Aurier Alderweireld Sanchez Davies
Dier Winks
Lucas Lamela Eriksen
Kane

Gazzaniga Trippier Wanyama Dembele Sissoko Son Llorente

Think Lamella may start on the bench with half an eye on the City game. Will need his energy in that one and PSV play quite an open game so Eriksen, Moura & Son can look after the creative side for us tonight.
