I'm sure that's exactly what Poch will do. However, I think the reason folks are suggesting Vinny is for three reasons: 1) Fernando was poor yesterday. Hard to see a different striker doing any worse than that. 2) Shop window. 3) Everyone loves the underdog and a great comeback story. Will the latter apply to Vinny? Probably not. But it's human nature to root for the little guy in this sorta situation.

I agree with that but I'd also say it's hard to see a different striker doing any better. Brighton clogged the penalty area up with bodies and had their 2 CBs all over Llorente. If he'd dropped deeper he'd have been playing between our CBs. I've seen counless hours where teams have blocked up the middle of the pitch and we've laboured to create anything at all,but unlike v Brighton, it's often Harry Kane that can't get a sniff. I'm not saying Llorente had a good game - he didn't, but under the circumstances I don't really know what else he could do. Fingers crossed, our remaining games will be a lot more open and we can actually play some football.

All 3 of the teams like to play a bit, particularly Bournemouth and Everton. I can't imagine another match like the Brighton game this season.

Llorente was really quite static for all of the match - Janssen was at least looking for spaces dragging the defenders around chasing him. I would give him a start against the spammers rather than 10 mins at the end - he must be desperate to get his career back on track and he must be showing something in training or else Poch wouldn't have him anywhere near the bench let alone the team.

Not sure about starting KWP in this game. He’d be up against Anderson who’s a very good player. Problem is of course, we don’t have options at RB atm...Foyth?

Kind of same with Skipp in CM. I think it’s a big ask of him to play here..

Think part of their tactic against leicester was to cross for antinio coming into the box from his side. Need to be aware of that

I would either go with 2 actual proper midfielders in there, as in Dier and Wanyama and not Eriksen or Dele or a 3 at the back with one proper midfielder alongside Eriksen/Dele with the other further forward with Son and Lucas.

We need to rest the fullbacks, so Davies and kwp/foyth to play.

Llorente and Wanyama also to get a rest if possible. Lamela or winks back for 60mins would be great

Lloris
Kwp Toby verts davies
Winks Dier
Moura Eriksen Dele
Son

Must win, strongest team available.

This.

It's good that the CL Semi is a two legged affair, with the first leg at home. Gives us a little more wiggle room when it comes to squad rotation and grinding out results, etc.

Win on Sat, do what we can on Tuesday not to concede and possibly steal a 1-0, rest players Vs Bournemouth (hopefully we're in the CL by then) and go all out Vs Ajax in the second leg.

Their form has been poor this year:

Last 6 games = Lost 4 - Drawn 1 - Won 1

Last 13 games = Lost 7 - Drawn 3 - Won 3

Away games 2019 = Lost 6 - Drawn 1 - Won 0

Away games Vs London clubs 18/19 = Lost 2 - Drawn 1 - Won 1 (vs Fulham)

So, whatever team we put out, we should have enough talent to beat them; we just need to match them with fight and run further than them.

EDIT: BBC have some more stats and form commentary that favour Spurs:

Are Vertonghen and Dele doubts for Saturday? Fuck. The injury situation is biting so hard now.

It's a London derby when we're still fighting for Top 4, this is a Cup final for them...even with their stronger squad.

Our injuries are a fucking joke. Some of our players just can’t stay fit for any length of time. Saying that this team should hopefully be good enough to beat West Ham.
I’d bring in Rose, Trippier, Alderweireld, Wanyama and Llorente back for the Ajax game...

Poch saying he likes Foyth at RB. Assume he'll play there tomorrow.

Lloris

Foyth, Toby, Verts/Sanchez, Davies

Dier, Wanyama

Moura, Eriksen, Dele

Son

Go back to the 4-2-3-1 well. Enough in that front four to hurt them.

Can also see the merits of resting a DM and going with a back 3. Depends how confident we are of Sissoko and Winks for Ajax.
