Today was evidence enough that the Dier/Dele/Eriksen combo is a weak midfield. No chance I'd play that at OT.

Three at the back? Davinson or Toby? Dembele and/or Dier? Do you scratch one of Dele/Eriksen/Moura?

The only thing I’m certain about is if you’re playing 3 at the back you can’t play Dier as the single pivot. It’s just makes us to stodgy when vertonghen/alderweireld push into midfield. For me with a 3,Winks is perfect infront of them if he’s physically up to it. I just don’t trust dembele defensively he had howlers playing that role last season in NLD and Leicester.

Every single time that we go to United, we lack penetration and look clueless in the final third.

Would like to see Lamela start for this, he's capable of finding the right pass, at the right moment. The last time we won in Manchester, a bit of magic from him did the trick.

Tough team to pick for Poch. We were better with Dembele on but not sure who you'd leave out, feels very harsh on Lucas to leave him out after his MOTM display, Dele has started the season well and no chance he'd be left out anyway. Taking out Dier could leave us quite open in the middle. Lamela despite his impact should be left as an impact sub for this. I'd be tempted to be bold and go 4 at back, adjust to a 3 if we need to solidify in second half.

Absolutely this. It's only minor but I would change Eriksen and Dele.

Madness to drop Dele or Lucas as people have suggested. They've been our best two players across the first two games, particularly Dele.

In the second half Dier was overwhelmed 2 or even 3 on 1 at times with Dele, but particularly Eriksen, not doing enough to help out. Dembele is a must for this reason, especially against a good United midfield 3.

For me, It's either Dembele - Dier or only Dembele. Dier's limited abality to play in the midfield was, again, exposed. I like him, but he is not good in the middle and that's a fact.

Im interrsted to see how poch handles his team selections going forward. Up until now we have had 7 or 8 nailed on starter and probably rightly so. But now we have at least 3 or 4 players who are challenging those current 'set in stones'.
Im starting to think we are outgrowing the dier in cm certainly as a nailed on starter but i just cant see poch leaving him out. Dembele has to start for the control he gives us which means we will be 4 at the back.
We have great options.

Yep Dier does not suit playing in midfield when we’re playing a back three.

Either he has to play in a 4-2-3-1 or in the back three in a 3-4-2-1.

Tricky team selection against Man U as if we were playing 3-4-2-1 I’d prefer Wanyama or Winks in there, but Winks isn’t ready to start.

The last coupe of performance against those ****s at Old Trafford have been underwhelming to say the least

I want us to go there and fucking hammer those fuckers. I want us to just play our game and attack them. I think Lamela may play instead of Moura just because of thee defensive ability although Moura has worked hard.

Not sure on the line-up, but I would be surprised if Lucas didn't play because his pace will mean that Utd can't play too high of a line, which will mean we won't get pinned back into our half all the time
