Plenty of time to think about this and I suspect Poch won’t change much .

Kane has to be benched. Has contributed nothing in last 4 games. Dembele needs a rest , though maybe 9 days is enough . Also I don’t want to see Dier and Wanyama together, or even worse Sissoko and anyone else. I think Trippier would probably do better as a wing back than as part of a back 4 , though it would be better if Rose is fit for that role too.

Lloris
Sanchez Alderweireld Vertonghen
Trippier Wanyama Eriksen Rose/ Davies
Dele Lamela
Son

Vorm, Dier, Moura, Dembele, Kane, Sissoko, Llorente

Can’t see it happening though . More likely :

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies
Dier Dembele,
Lamela Eriksen Dele
Kane

Agree with both points.

I just want us to be able to scrape together enough points now to fend off Chelsea, nothing else matters.

We’re not going to finish the season in style like last year, but we absolutely cannot let those chavs overhaul us right at the end. If we can just get those couple of wins we need I’ll be delighted.

We still have a good chance of overtaking Liverpool for 3rd place if we really try hard.

Back 3 with Rose and Aurier please. If we play a back 4 with no pace we will struggle to break them down.

I think Kane will put in an improved performance too as he is definitely getting sharper.

6-1 is my prediction lol

I’ve no problem with the false 9 in principle, but the player has to be two-footed, and Erik ain’t that. Son is the obvious choice, but Dembele wouldn’t be a stupid option.

Usually I’d agree with their CL commitments but I just can’t see us winning the last four given our current form.

time for Eriksen to play CM alongside Wanyama
Lloris
Dier Alderweireld Vertonghen
Aurier Wanyama Eriksen KWP
Dele Son
Lamela

Vorm, Davies, Sanchez, Dembele, Lucas, Sterling, Kane

Kane is not close to fit. Lamela as false 9.
City have shown that playing one DM in front of a back 4 can work so id like us to try the same thing to see if it helps create more in situations such as Saturdays. Something like:-
Hugo
KWP Sanchez Jan Rose
Wanyama
Lamela Eriksen Dele Moura
Kane/Son

The thing is Kane has said he feels sharp and he's raring to go and surely he deserves a bit more respect from us as a fanbase.

Don't get me wrong, he's not been very good since he returned from injury but I'd argue that we allowed him to play sooner than we should have, particularly considering our form whilst he was out. We certainly weren't struggling for goals and we should have just let him work his way back in slowly with sub appearances.

That said, he was very well marshalled in the Utd game and it was clear that part of Utd's gameplan was to swarm around him and remove him as a factor where possible.

The bottom line is that he can tear apart teams like Watford so Poch won't drop him.

It's been a rough couple weeks with losing to Juve, City and Utd and the draw with Brighton wasn't ideal either but it's not like we need to suddenly blow up what has been working for the 2nd half of the season.

Why does everyone want Wanyama to start? He hasn’t done enough to justify that lately and Dier was one of our better players against Man United IMO.

Lloris
Trippier Toby Jan Rose
Dier Dembele
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane

I know Kane hasn’t been great lately but we have a lot of time until next game. I hope and think he will get enough rest to get in form.

As others have said I’d like to see Eriksen tried a little deeper, Pep has done the same with KDB. Put him alongside Wanyama or Dier and it then allows us to play Moura / Dele / Son begins Kane.

Hugo
Tripped - Vert - Sanchez - Davies
Dier - Eriksen
Moura - Dele - Son
Kane

Need to secure top 4 as soon as we can. Pressure will only mount the longer it takes.

On that basis, I'd like to see a set up with more emphasis on attack. Not to the point that we are left wide open in defence, but a set up that will see us get back to winning ways ASAP.

It might be that our usual formations will see us through. They've got us thus far after all, but of late we've become stagnated.

So at worst if the usual formation isn't working, let's get the subs done early and set up to attack, attack, attack.

Why do you want running around a lot, with no presence or expectation Lamela to start?

Son hasn’t been in great form and I think Lamela’s energy could be useful. Wouldn’t mind if we start Lucas though.

True Son has lost his mojo at the wrong time, but he still carries a far greater threat than Lamela. I think for £30m I would expect more than “energy” from an attacking player. Too much of his on-field time is spent expending negative energy chasing back because he’s lost possession or overruns the ball. Usually resulting in the red mist appearing & fouling an opponent to get the ball back, all rather counter-productive in my view and a red card waiting to happen.

I'd never question Harry Kane's committment to the team but I think his judgement can be clouded when he comes back from injury. He hasn't looked sharp or fit since his latest one but insists that he is. Son is also off form, bumbling through matches and making too many wrong decisions. Maybe Llorente should get a chance and hook him off early if it doesn't work. He hasn't scored the goals but some of his lay offs and link up play have been excellent so I could see him causing problems with Eriksen, Lamela, Moura etc playing off him.I'd also like to see us go to a back 3 so that the wing backs can join in the press which seems to have disappeared lately.
