If Dier is better at CB than at DM, I’d like to see if Poch could mould Foyth to be a DM. If it’s successful, we wouldn’t need to spend on another DM.

I'm not sure the team will be as strong as some are guessing. I think we will go weak and Watford will smell blood and pick a strong team.

Exactly.

Can't understand why people would want to start Harry here.

Im indifferent but I assume Probably to build up rhythm and confidence.

His best spell of the game was in the final 20 minutes, doesn't really reek of massive fatigue

(Would keep Dier in to try and get rhythm going for team, although would be nice if Wanyama could actually get fit!).

Shit me in all the excitement forgot this was a league cup game oops!

So amended:

Gazzaniga

KWP Sanchez Vertonghen Rose (to build up sharpness)

Skipp Amos

Moura Lamela (also to build up match fitness) Son

Llorente

It didn't reek of fatigue but this is still a great opportunity to rest him and play Son through the middle.

Have to rest some of the WC boys with Barcelona coming up there’s just no choice. Watford will make 11 changes our B team should be good enough. I’d play Son rest him against Huddersfield. Dele just had a little rest. Lamela and moura should still be fresh.

Aurier foyth sanchez davies
Winks wanyama

If all are fit, then:

Gazza
Aurier Foyth Sanchez Davies
Wanyama Winks
KWP Lamela Alli
Llorente

Subs: Whiteman, Dier, Rose, Amos, Sissoko, Moura, Nkoudou
This has to be a game where some players get a rest, and others get a run out either for match fitness or to get back from injury. Use the full depth of the squad.

The Belgian contingent, Eriksen, Kane, and especially Son, should not even travel.

I'd be tempted to go as strong as possible and then sub a few when 3-0 up. We can't complain about never winning a pot then put out a completely different 11 and expect them to do well.

I don't want us to throw it.

Why not have a stab at winning something??

I agree. Someone I think on Sky or BT said Mourinho's first trophy at Chelsea was a League Cup trophy and that was probably important in his reign as it doesn't matter what trophy it is, but any trophy breeds the hunger and belief for more.

Would absolutely love to win this trophy.
