Well that’s a matter for opinion. Agree Trippier got done for the second goal at the weekend, and he has some defensive weaknesses, but I trust him more than Aurier.

Besides, even if they are as bad as each other defensively, Trippier is far better going forward and I think has been one of our better performers so far this season.

Tomorrow is a very important game. Lose and we will probably be facing 0 points from the opening two matches. I don’t think it’s the right tone for just chucking players in and experimenting.

There was an article printed last week which stated that when Trippier plays we are severely weakened on the right hand side of the pitch and the majority of the chances we are letting up are coming from that side, can't be asked to look for it, I'm sure someone can post it in here again. I'd harbour a guess that Poch has cottoned onto that and probably thinks something needs changing in that regard. I think now's a good chance to experiment and play Aurier on that side of the pitch and give him a few matches to settle down.

Well I hope you’re right, but the guy just makes me nervous. Inter aren’t the team they once were, but it won’t be easy at the San Siro and it calls for calm heads imo.

We certainly need it, Peresic is a quality player with pace, maybe that's one of the reasons Trippier hasn't traveled, just got to hope that Aurier's concentration levels have improves.

I personally hope Aurier plays tomorrow and KWP on Saturday. I'd use that rotation going forward and sell Trippier in January. Should have sold him this past summer with his value sky high, IMO.

the weird decisions continue. Yeah, Liver's second goal saw both victims at fault but Dier and Eriksen also stank the right side out in their own ways. Perhaps he wants to rest all the WCSF players who are all knackered, but the two left behind are the only players he feels he can rest because we have viable replacements. Verts and Kane clearly don't, although some of us would rather see some more pace up top than the Chingford statue.

It's not just the Parma game, with exception of their 3-0 win against Bologna they have looked very disjointed. They bought a lot over summer and it's taking time to Integrate. Icardi has been struggling with a nock but came on against Parma to no avail. I would expect him to start against us. Tacticaly they don't look comfortable at all and even in games they dominate they give away easy chances. Really we should be beating them at this point.
Still does'nt mean anything. Every game is completely different and remember Inter have been missing in the ECL these past 7 years and will giv etheir all in front of their own. Will be a very difficult game for us and with key players missing, especially Lloris.

For those panicking about Pochettino’s comments and thinking he’s sending some passive aggressive message to the board, the full quote might be a little less sensational and a little more, well, just plain stating the obvious:

"I don't think we're realistic contenders in any single competition," added Pochettino.
"That is my view if we show the same face we did against Watford and Liverpool, so difficult. If we show the face from some bits of Old Trafford, then maybe yes."

Can see why Toby has been left in London, the 20 starts in all comps last season must have exhausted him.
Glad Sanchez will get a start, massively unfair he’s on bench behind a guy who wanted to leave all summer considering how he performed last season.

As others have said it would be perfect time to start KWP these next few games, Trippier’s World Cup performance against poor teams is a distant memory and Aurier really has been a disappointment. If it is Aurier though it’s potentially a really great game to get his career here going.

I do just want a win but it would be nice to get a performance we know we’re capable of too, it feels a bit troubling at the moment with us.

Don't understand why leaving Tripps and Toby out but still taking with you players like Eriksen or Dier after that piece of crap performance they gave last saturday (and all season long actually). It seems like Pochetino is losing the plot a bit.

Kane, Eriksen, Dele when fit, Dier, Vertonghen and Hugo get a free pass from Pochettino.

I don't really get the whole 'technical reasons' rationale. If they're not resting, and not dropped, then what does it mean?
And then the bit about the cows. And the competing. It would seem that the stress is getting to our wee Poch. :wacky:

Agreed, but to be fair until now we've never had players to rotate with Eriksen, Dele, Dier for the most part, and Vertonghen until now. We have at least 1 player on the bench most of the time that could be rotated with that group. Still don't really have anyone for Kane or Lloris but I suppose with Kane we can play without a true forward and succeed.

Gazzaniga

Dier Sanchez Vertonghen

KWP Winks Wanyama Rose

Lucas Son Lamela

Subs: Vorm, Aurier, Davies, Skipp, Sissoko, Eriksen, Llorente

Dembele and Kane need a rest, Dier and Eriksen need a kick up the arse

Edit: just saw that Toby and Trippier have not travelled, Dier into the back 3 then

Why are we whining about Trippier and Alderweireld?

Aurier was always going to rotate in for a mid-week match, and Sanchez deserves to play. This looks like much ado about nothing.
