I too would like to see Moura being given starts. However, this is a must win game - lose and the chance for silverware has gone. As you rightly point out we have not been playing to our best lately - do we take a gamble? Who does Moura replace? He is short of game time and may even of match fitness. He has had far less experience playing with the current players and to Poch's style. For me, I would prefer the usual starting 4 of Son, Eriksen, Alli and Kane for this match. Just my view and you may well be right - I am cautious by nature.

I'm going to be contentious here but I'd start with Harry on the bench...he just hasn't looked his usual self lately and perhaps coming on later would give him the chance to play Super Hero and net a couple....just my humble opinion of course.....(and I'm sure he will actually start....Poch wouldn't risk it)

A good point but is there a problem, do we have a replacement for his position? Also, if we use Son there, we take him away from his most effective positions. Who would be a manager eh? Not me. As you know me from old, you know that I am a 'sit on the fence type' whose views change with the wind. When we win we are going to win the league and when we lose I fear relegation. Thank goodness we have Poch to take the decisions in whom I trust implicitly.

I think the idea of putting Harry on the bench may have made us more fluid with the others darting about but really it would make the United defence more confident too knowing he wasnt there.

My Team...

Hugo

Trips
Jan
Sanchez
Davies

Dem
Wan
Eriksen

Alli
Kane
Lam

What it will be.....

Same back 5

Eriksen further forward, Dier instead of Wan

Son instead of Lam

I'm not sure a back 3 is quite the way to go unless we can dominate possession which is doubtful....Jose will play a 3 in the middle and their wide players will push our wing backs back leaving us exposed on the flanks with potential overloads in a back 3 system. Match them up in a 433 and I think we increase our chances because we're a better balanced side...this is of course dependent on us not taking large doses of Mogadon as we have recently....

Vorm

Trippier Sanchez Vertonghen Davies

Dier Dembele

Eriksen Alli Son

Kane

Wouldn't care if we were to see Alderweireld over Sanchez also.

I'm hoping we'll see a fitter Kane after another week of training and two league games under his belt. If he doesn't perform then I can't see us winning today.

Kind of feel that kane and son hold the key today. I think dembele will boss the cm but if kane and son are at it then it is them who can take the game away feom united. However if the are both poor then united will nulify our attack and we will have to prey that hugo manages to save a peno for once in his life lol.

I just pray that all this talk of us possibly going to a back three doesn’t result in us playing Son left wing back again.

Davies has had 2 games in a few days so it might be in poch’s Mind to play someone else in there. I just hope not.

Why are so many wanting to revert to a back three against a side renown for setting up very defensively? Makes no sense what so ever other than to shoe horn TA back into the side.

Agreed. Would be suicide.

They aren't going to park the bus, they'll try to counter.

I just think we've been exposed a little bit at the back with the 4-2-3-1 against good sides. Even in the Chelsea game we were struggling to cope with their counters in the first half.

I don't want to give them a fucking sniff and we usually look rock solid with a back 3. I'd still be confident in our attacking players to come through.

Play your best players regardless, and Toby is one. He is our player until (if) sold. Want to win this cup. Will say a lot about Poch if Toby doesn’t start.

wing backs? That'll mean more sideways passing and no Son. No thanks. 4231. If Kane turns up, we have a good chance.

bit self-indulgent replying to myself. But the point being Kane didn't turn up. That injury, and premature return from it, has fcked us at exactly the crucial time. Poch needs to dig in now otherwise we won't be getting the 7 points we need to be certain of fourth.

We need an outfield player leader who had been there and done it... to drag players up when their heads drop. He can't be too old... He can't be too young. He has to be a player that invigorates and inspires on the pitch, on the away bus and in life.

Poch needs to find that player this summer, and it's a player we desperately need.

It doesn't matter if that man costs money. We need that kind of player.
