Davies will need a rest midweek.KWP is only obvious cover.so play Aurier Swansea ,trips midweek.i do like the 352 but reckon dele would throw a strop playing deeper.

Anyone know what's going on with winks? Talk of him not being fully fit. If anything I'd use him to give eriksen a rest in league cup though.

I think we will see sissoko return in dembeles place for Swansea. He did ok against Everton and his athleticism could the suit Wembley pitch.

Son/Ali and serge/trips are tough calls though

I think he'll only rest first team players if they're not fit/have a knock given we have calling cup midweek. The Trips/Aurier selection is the interesting one. If he goes for Aurier, will be a clear sign that Trips is second choice.
think Aurier will be first choice at the mo but also know he likes to rotate and this is a good game to do so....would have been interesting if this weekend was Utd away for eg!

his injury was nasty....can't blame Poch for taking it slow with young Harry

This game against Swansea is another massive game at Wembley, to disspell more perceived (poor) habits. Winning after a CL game, the Wembley so called hoodoo , with a convincing win puts us right up there mentality wise and sets a massive statement of intent that our squad / club has mentally stepped into the elite next level.

I think Pochettinho will revert back to the team that beat Everton. Sissoko Trippier Alli for Dembele Aurier Son.

Agree it's a tough call re Aurier and Trips. There's a value to rotation, it would build Trips' confidence to get a start, plus he could do the job against Swansea.

But, any real game time Aurier gets in the PL at this stage, after making his club debut last night, would really help him integrate into the team, build that mutual understanding and link-up play with his team mates, which needs to be forged early, considering he's going to be our first choice RB. Plus, it would give him a feel for the PL etc., I'd go Aurier, but I also just want to see him play again.

I think Aurier v Swansea and Trips v Barnsley midweek, with KWP playing LB to give Davies a break to keep him fresh.

That's what I would do but I can see poch playing trips on sat and aurier midweek

Against lesser opposition, which is 75% of the league,I've no doubt our best team with available is
Lloris
Toby. Sanchez. Jan
Aurier. Dier. Davies
Eriksen. Dele. Son
Kane.

Headache for Poch but I reckon you gotta go with Trips for this one.

I wouldn't, we failed to deliver against Chelsea and Burnley by playing both Tripps and Davies. With Alli likely to return we'll have no pace in the team. Aurier and Son both have to play otherwise we'll be one dimensional again.

We played both against Everton and we looked fine, we lacked pace against Chelsea and Burnley because both teams sat deep and negated the space for our full backs to run into, Swansea aren't expected to sit deep or be as defensively minded as Burnley.

Fair point but why not pick the better player? There's no room for sentiment. We shouldn't have to select Tripper automatically in the next game to prevent hurting his feelings. Aurier is the better player and should be 1st choice from now on. Trippier can play against Barnsley next week.

With Barnsley to come in midweek (when I assume we'll play kids), is to borderline full strength

Hugo

Toby
Sanches
Jan

Trips
Dier
Dembele
Davies

Eriksen
Alli

Kane

A week before West Ham so play the side that will play the hammers. Aurier and Trips is the one question mark I have, rest of the first team picks itself IMO
Maybe rest Dembele and bring in Winks or Son. We should be able to boss the game without the big guy

Because Trippier can take better advantage of the spaces that Swansea will hand us as he has an excellent delivery, nothing to do with sentiment more to do with tactics.
