Was it Aubameyang that levy left at the airport all those years ago? I have seen a couple of rumours linking us to him for £54m in January. Fantastic player, clearly some issues...what do people think?

I'd be all over him if there was a sniff he would come to us!

I read that he was shown round the training ground and then the deal went cold. Another one to add to the 'what could have been' pile...

Generally I am not very hopeful that the club would make moves in the January window, due to the exorbitant prices, but the timing of the new stadium gives me hope that this window may be different.

I'd have to imagine Levy wants to open the stadium with a bang, with the club playing in the Champions League and not Europa. May lead him to loosen up the purse strings a bit in January to reinforce the squad and increase the odds of a Top 4 finish.

Apparently we tried to sign Kovacic in the summer. Shame it didn’t happen, would have been a very wise buy. At this point I think the hols in our team are becoming clearer for us to see, but even so I don’t think we will se much movement in Jan except for Barkley and potentially a replacement for Rose IF he leaves then.

To be honest we have to many this kind of shames. I think griezmann also admits that he almost went to us

Could depend on top 4 situation. With so many games in December. We could either be right back in it, on the brink or cut adrift. If cut adrift they may just say f**k it and let’s plod on till end of season. If on bring they may well go for it wanting CL for new stadium.

Best we can hope for is Onomah to be recalled to be honest and I don't think even that is going to happen. We will sign no one.

Because of Pochs physical demands and the burgeoning talent England has coming through, I hope we revert to the young English profile mostly in the next few seasons. Pulisic type signings aside.

Yes but I hope we don't do it for the sake of it. They should have to be very good footballers to make it at Spurs and not just young and English maybes. I'm sure you weren't suggesting that, but I'm also sort of talking about Ross Barkley - is he good enough for Spurs?

Kovacic would be right at the top of my list.

I really can't see Rose leaving in January, the sqauds thin enough as it is. Would like to see us bring in Gelson Martins, Liverpool are linked because they severely lack pacey wingers. Apparent £53.3m release clause, but that'll be paid back immediately if he turns out to be the difference between missing out on the top 4.

I'd love for Martins to be added.

Sam Allardyce has claimed Ross Barkley is “putting his career in severe danger” and that a possible summer move to Tottenham broke down due to his financial demands.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT on Friday, the former England manager said: “I think they [Everton] made him, they said at the time, the best offer they could possibly make him, which he refused on the basis probably that his agent said, ‘I can get you more than that somewhere else’. And that didn’t materialise in the end.
Note the key word here, which basically means he is just guessing. The issue then is still the same issue now!

He is injured, and not close to coming back!

Linked with Lanzini again in the press today. Tbh I really want him. He is very gettable, especially how bad west ham is playing. Also, Poch really like argentine players, right? I think he may have a small chance to get in the Argentina team in world cup if he joined us in january. He still has a lot of potential. His ability to pass through balls and to get in to the box is really impressive (well, at least against us). More importantly, he plays cm, and he is better than sissoko. He also can be a backup no.10 that we really need.
