If we are to make any signings it is likely to be with next season in mind. We know how long it takes players to adapt to Poch's way.

If Barkley is not going to play for Everton it might be in their interest to sell him for a small fee to save paying wages and losing on a free in the summer. Having not played this season I imagine he will not be anywhere near match fit to make much of an impact this season.

As Fulham are not in the title race I wonder if they would consider selling Sessegnon. 6 months training and getting ready and he could be ready to make a big impression next season, especially if Rose is to be sold in the summer.

Zaha is another I am interested in but cannot see him as a January signing.

Sancho must be really pissed to have missed the World Cup.To bring him back for 10 mins off the bench was poor by Dortmund.Hopefully will cause a rift. Will be Barkley or nothing imo.

Ryan Sessegnon. Fulham are not in the promotion race this year (unless a miracle happens) and seeing how ready Pochettino is to give (English) youngster a chance as well as seeing that 6 Spurs players are in the England squad can't be anything increase Spurs' chances of signing him - even though other clubs easily can outbid Spurs. And should Spurs sell Rose (to ManU) then Ryan's chances of getting games is certainly there. If he's ready for the EPL and CL this is another question.
Ross Barkley. Well, it seem this is close to a done deal but one never knows.
A fast, skillfull wide forward. Preferably a left-footer.
An injury free Lamela would almost be a like a new signing.

Doesn't Sessegnion tick the box as fast skilful left footer wide forward as well as being understudy for LWB too? Sessegnon would be on my wish list, for both reasons.

Priority for me though has got to be a CM/8 type. Even if by some miracle Onomah does end up making it with us, I think right now we only really have Winks as viable option. Which wouldn't be enough in the CM2 system, but now we are frequently playing CM3 versions is definitely not enough. Dembele's fucked. Sissoko is not a CM and is awful anywhere. It means dragging Eriksen and/or Alli back into the CM3 roles, which can be good and can work on occasions but definitely isn't the catch all answer.

There's a young kid at Lyon who's really catching my eye, Aouar, tenacious as fuck but technically very good and sees a pass, can move with the ball too.

For attacking areas I really like Forsberg. Still think Brandt is worth a shot. And I still think I'd take Fekir over Barkley. I know there'd be some question marks over Fekir's off the ball work, but I don't think it would be any worse than Eriksen's or Alli's and he can play literally anywhere in the front positions.

I know discussed during summer transfer window but...

It appears Shaw is no longer in Uniteds plans. Mourinho not even talking to him anymore, and by all accounts ready to cut loose this winter.

There was talk of Rose heading back North and maybe UTD being the destination.

Any takers for Shaw if Rose adamant he will leave?.

Daily Star seem to think...

Nathan Redmond to City (Mendy injured)

Shaw to replace Redmond at Southampton

Rose to replace Shaw at United

Spurs in for Kieran Tierney (Celtic) to replace Rose.

We have raised the bar to a very high by beating Madrid, now we must maintain that standard, it would be disappointing to get knocked out in the next round by a much lesser team. Really there is no reason why we can't go on and win the whole damn thing.

Barkley, Sessegnon and Josh Onomah...
Pertinent and realistic

You can ask the fans who they want till the cows come home, if there is more than one in and maybe one out I'd be astonished. It won't take a genius to work out who that potential incoming player might be ether.

Finally, Leandro Damiao will be ours!

Probably not one for this Jan, but for the summer, I would love to see us go balls to the wall for Charly Musonda at Chelsea.

Has been one of their highest rated prospects for years, but as is standard with Chelsea, he doesn’t get the minutes. His contract runs until 2019 so in the summer he’ll have 12 months left, Chelsea may opt to cash in if he wants to leave instead of losing him for nothing.

Chelsea have shown with the Matić deal, Cech deal etc, they are not overtly abject to selling to a ‘rival team’.

I believe that he represents Belgium at a national level too, could slide right in at Spurs, is young, hungry and ready to light shit up. (Don’t know who saw him play when he was at Betis on loan? Such a talent!)

Pipe dream, but stranger things have happened.

I thought it was England left back Ryan Bertrand that City were interested in, rather than attacking midfielder Nathan Redmond - especially as it's to cover an injured left back.
Other than that, I'd still be interested in Shaw. It's previously been suggested that money would be an issue, with the wages he's on at Man U. But if there's talk of a Southampton return, I don't think that can be the case. Whether he's a true option, I expect Poch would know better than anyone.

Morning guys,

Hope you're all well.

We've got another episode of Team Whispers for you.

"With Spurs’ increasingly enhanced reputation among the continent’s elite, that surely means their pulling power in attracting world-class talent is greater than ever. Here, we ask the fans where they would like to see the club strengthen in the January transfer window."

Who should Spurs sign in January?

Cheers,

Sam
Don't know if it's just me, but I can't see the actual article. I get the preamble (we'll look at the best midfield pairing, January transfers & preview v Palace) but then it asks me to like on Facebook, ads, other stories & the footer. I'm on my phone but that doesn't usually cause an issue.
Am I missing something obvious?

Serously? :( I thought you, with your connections, read up my wish list for Levy and put pressure on him to sign them :D

Barkley as he would solve a lot of problems.

Shaw would be interesting for the summer as part of a deal which sees Rose go the other way. The emergence of Davies allows for this, same as last season with Trippier/ Walker, and Shaw has a high ceiling. At 22 Rose was going nowhere fast remember, and they are about as injury prone as each other. We’d spin a profit overall, replacing a player who wants out with a player who will be dedicated to our manager.
