Morning guys,

Hope you're all well.

We've got another episode of Team Whispers for you.

"With Spurs’ increasingly enhanced reputation among the continent’s elite, that surely means their pulling power in attracting world-class talent is greater than ever. Here, we ask the fans where they would like to see the club strengthen in the January transfer window."

Who should Spurs sign in January?

Cheers,

Sam

We very rarely do any business in January, although maybe some movement in the Barkley situation wouldn't be a surprise.

I'd say a pacy wide forward is about all we need. There are quite a few good ones in Italy and France at the moment.

I'm personally still disappointed that we didn't sign Demarai Gray. A lot of people were slamming the idea in the summer but a few of us could see the quality he has and in the last few games for Leicester he's finally be allowed the chance to show his class.

Signing a new deal clearly doesnt prevent a transfer from happening in future and I hope we try again next summer if a deal for Zaha can't be done.

As far as January goes, Barkley is the obvious choice but things could be very different depending on what they do with their manager situation. If they stick with Unsworth then I could see Ross still wanting to leave but if they land someone decent then he could well be convinced to stay.

January is normally a window with few transfers though so I do not expext much movement neithe in nor out.
Ryan Sessegnon. Fulham are not in the promotion race this year (unless a miracle happens) and seeing how ready Pochettino is to give (English) youngster a chance as well as seeing that 6 Spurs players are in the England squad (plus former Spurs player Walker) can't but increase Spurs' chances of signing him - even though other clubs easily can outbid Spurs. And should Spurs sell Rose (to ManU) then Ryan's chances of getting games is certainly there. If he's ready for the EPL and CL this is another question.
Ross Barkley. Well, it seem this is close to a done deal but one never knows.
A fast, skillfull wide forward. Preferably a left-footer. Maybe left-footed WF Jack Harrison (NYC fc) but not as an immediate impact player me thinks.
An injury free Lamela would almost be a like a new signing.

I keep hearing this, but even if they were to get a high profile manager I can't see anyway staying at Everton is more appealing than coming to Spurs. He's obviously open to leaving already and seeing Everton in a mess and us beating the likes of Madrid is only going to reinforce that.

If anything is likely to prevent it, it's Levy trying to be too clever with the Everton board. Make a good offer as soon as the window opens and he's ours imo.

sancho, sessegnon and barkley would round the squad out nicely for the run-in, especially if lamela is fully fit and playing.

Barkley. We're through to the knockouts of the CL and if we're still in the FA Cup around then the games are going to come thick and fast. I think he could be both a great short and long term signing.

Also depending on the form of Llorente we might want to consider a striker if a decent one becomes available. I think a midfield player is probably the priority at the moment though.
