We are simply too slow moving the ball around all over the pitch.

Worse than that is that it's almost impossible for a team to be able to suddenly switch to a higher tempo at will. It's normally triggered by something like a match incident or a comeback goal, rather than the team suddenly upping the gear. Equally bad is that it's infectious and players coming into the team start going the same way. Last season what I loved about Winks was how he would instantly face forward when he received the ball and look for a through ball. Now his first reaction seems to go backwards even when not under pressure. It's maddening.

It's been a problem for a good number of years now. There is no doubt we're a very good side but our recent league positions have flattered us IMHO because the usual suspects have under performed compared to their recent historical standards. Case in point was Leicester winning the title two seasons ago.

We won't be a serious threat unless we find a way of upping our tempo. As soon as the opposition disrupts our slow methodical patient tempo we struggle. The first time I remember it was when West Ham beat us two seasons ago. He sussed that by denying Lloris and Dier time on the ball we were fucked because neither are comfortable in possession under pressure.

Until we sort out our tempo problem we're going to continue to be frustrating.

Ya spot on.. the lack of off the ball movement annoys me.. u wud think it's obvious and easily fixable but it's been a persistent problem for a while now..

This has been a problem for a while, it's ok if you have one or two that can quicken the game in key positions, but we are chock full of three touch minimum players, before they even look up from the floor.

With the exception of Lamela we are sorely lacking in players that will pass first time with purpose, and drive to get into a position to receive the ball in return.

Yeah spot on and I’ve been saying for a while that when a good team puts pressure on us to pass quickly things fall apart quite quickly.

Most of our players need a lot of time on the ball to be effective.
