On the tv, we wouldn't have known we had any home fans at all save for a couple of yid armys etc, out sung for the whole game by the Greeks, to be honest, it sounded quieter than a normal match. It genuinely sounded pathetic. Either they had the mikes in the wrong place or you were all put to shame by the away fans.
i've had a few people say that to me too?! weird as we didn't hear them except for after their goal, the rest was quiet by them and all us!

It's definitely strange that the experiences in this thread differ so dramatically, even the commentators were talking about the Greek support rather than ours (though who really trusts Andy Townsend?). Still, it's early days and as long as somebody is trying something it will eventually gain traction and improve for everyone, it can only be a good thing, until somebody decides to bring a trumpet, then I'll have a problem with it.

Crack on guys, I probably won't be getting to any games any time soon but when I do, I'll bring my special chanting pants.

The problem is the "I'm too good to sing" brigade.

Spurs is rife with it. Sometimes its even frowned upon if you sit in the wrong areas. Personally, I jump and jive like the greeks were last night

I agree and its a case of I think a lot of people feel embarrassed to sing if the people around them don't...and you just end up with sections where people all would like to sing but don't want to be the only ones.

Not much singing goes on down our way in block 24. Would love it to be different but it was never gonna be on Thursday, we were surrounded by Greeks!

The atmosphere was brilliant in block 32. Don't think we stopped singing the whole game. It was nice to see I can still keep up with the youngsters!!!

I like the idea of this and I hope it works and takes off.

What I don't like is the term "Day Trippers@ that I keep seeing.

We can't all have season tickets, we can't all get to every game. Some of us live a distance away, so get to games when we can. Home or away, whenever I get the chance to go, I sing, and i'm a "Day Tripper"

I think "Day Tripper" is being used to mean someone choosing to come to be entertained, not a supporter coming when they can.

Was in the Shelf for the PAOK game.
There were so many families there it rather put me off chanting and didn't help the atmosphere. I could hear the Greeks but it certainly wasn't one sided as the TV pundits suggested.
I do think there's something funny going on with the acoustics at WHL.
