And KWP and Oduwa, I hope you and @thinktank are right and we start seeing Poch integrating them over the next few years.

Next year while obviously being big for the club will be very important for the academy. Whether or not he tries to integrate our top young players and how many get a chance/debuts will be quite important. We've already seen top clubs starting to circle our big talents now, and our only advantage is that we give our young players chance.

But if no new players get a chance and I'm only talking one or two (Veljkovic/Onomah/Carroll/Winks) and maybe a couple of debuts and I just mean minutes once towards the end of the game, we will begin to lose our advantage over other clubs. If people get chances and struggle fair dos, and the results of the club are most important, but we need to be seen to be willing to give chances as the academy is our best weapon for breaking into the top 4.

This helps in cases where we want to sign young players (Alli) and of course hanging onto our young players (Edwards). With even more talent coming behind these lot we will begin to see more vultures than normal and we need a reason for them to want to stay at this club.

I hope Poch is the man I look forward to next season

To be fair we look like we are clearing out so I think that's the plan, in midfield it's looking good however right back and CB are looking a bit worrying though but to be fair our CB and RB talent have time on there side

That's why I'm in favour of a smallish first team squad. It leaves room for the youngsters to come in as back up and in the LC/UEFA and we can also free up some of the wage budget to pay these lads enough to stop their heads being turned by the likes of Chelsea and Man C.

While agree, like you say thought we seem to clear then start adding. I get the Trippier signing, but Toby I don't. Last season we made the quaters of EL, LC final and still came 5th using only 3 CBs. The u20 World Cup just took place and the 2 CBs in the team of tournament were BOTH from Spurs, yet we buy 2 more CBs and have now have 5, excluding Chirches and Kaboul, CBs for what is essentially 3/4 spots. I don't get the planning there.

I hope there is a deeper plan in there somewhere though, I liked Fazio but I guess he is going to have to be sold.

Jan goes next summer, probably Fazio too. Toby is then the senior CB with Wimmer and Dier and then the youth line up behind them. That's what I assume the planning is and it's not that far fetched.

understand where you are coming from but think with all the midfielders being sold plus vlad and kaboom, Toby also provides cover in the middle of the park....and if he and Jan (and Die/ Wimmer) look decent Fazio will be gone within a year (if not this window). Midfield group could end up being nabil, ryan, (Macarthy), Alli, Dembele and youth.

I think as ever it will be really interesting as to how the u18's line up and how Marcus is used in the side. Of the second years I would expect Azzaoui to be fast streamed up and not used much in the 18s same as CCV and Maghoma. Glover will be the number 1 keeper and Muscatt encamped at left back I assume the rest of the back 4 are likely to be first years unless Paul plays in one of the roles and he was progressing at a rate of knots last season after a less than impressive start but seemed better in midfield imo - Owen and Styliandes are likely to form the central midfield and that only leaves Daly who may be converted to a right back Hayford who has hardly played and Lofty who could be used as the battering ram up front with Edwards and Sterling as wide forwards time - will tell but it should be interesting especially as the basis of the side are likely to b first years and that may take time to bed in

Thought I'd bring this back here. I posted a couple of weeks back that I was told CCV, Maghoma, Azzaoui and Glover will be part of the u21 development program so you would be right there. I reckon McGee will go on loan though and Glover and Voss will be rotating for the GK spot there. Can't see Glover playing any u18s, when we've got McDermott, Whiteman (Eng u17) and Austin in the academy next year, that's more than enough keepers for the u18s to work with. Glover may play FAYC matches but even then we still have Whiteman.

As much as I like Muscatt I think Brown will really push him next season and will probably prove to be the better if not more eye catching. And Tsaroulla will obviously want to be invovled. We are struggling at RB, clearly Hayford wasn't rated there, not sure where he is, so maybe Tsaroulla may play there or even Paul who like you said improved with Tanganga/Mukena/Brown able to play CB.

Stylianides clearly seems to be liked as well so much get a few u21 matches. CMs will most likely be Owens/Stylianides/Marsh/Roles and maybe Hayford. I think some of the u16s next year will get a lot more chances next year in the u18s.

I Agree do think we need one starter but I think Toby is that player it's more Wimmer which baffles me not saying his not good but we have Dier, the Milo's, CCV as our young CB he lacks exp in the EPL so is he the one blocking there path? if we sell fazio. Kabs and VC I think we will have a really good blend though.

interesting: 'It would be a huge blow to Spurs if they lost this kid, so I reached out to Spurs youth blogger Windy who has assured me that he has signed a pre-contract with the club and is expected to sign a professional deal when he turns 17 in December. So hopefully we can forget all that talk about him leaving.'

That's what I thought, haven't heard or seen ITK to say he has definitely signed a precontract, though many including myself have heard he is staying or his family are happy for him to stay. If he has signed then good, but don't remember Windy saying anything

I've also heard he's staying. I don't know if he's signed the pre contract, although I do know we offered him one.

Ye had heard he was staying, family want him to stay and he is in the academy, but heard nothing about him signing a pre pro. Would be good if he has signed the one offered though

Toby reminds me of when we brought Woodgate, you knew he was a good player but watching him every week you started to realize he was even better than you first thought and I think that will be the same with Toby.

Woodgate was awesome I wish we had a defender like him at the club for CCV and Milo's benefit and could play a long side. king and Woodgate were so good you didn't appreciate them till they had gone so good at reading the game and positionally if it was not for injury it would be scary to think how good the pair of them could have been,

Main training vid up at the moment has glimpses of Onomah with the first team. Does not look out of place. The kid's got great stature.

I'm sure poch will be liking what he's seeing.

And a great finish from CCV at the end, haha. Such an exciting batch of youngsters coming through and great to see them integrating into first team sessions like this.

I thought the same but after thinking about it, if you look at Verts and Fazio's age and contract length, I think they are both gone in 2 years, meaning that we could have 4 CB options of Toby, Dier, Wimmer and Veljkovic (if he isn't a DM) in 2 years with Veljkovic still only 21 and CCV 5th choice, still only 19. Toby would be approaching the same situation as Vert and Fazio, so CCV could be 1 of the 4 at 21. That's assuming we don't sell any on in the meantime.

Also, if Toby & Trippier solidify the defence as much as people hope, then it creates a better and more stable learning environment for Milos, CCV & KWP to come into.
