Yes and no. Can shaq and one other offer more than bobby and ade. Also can shaq improve?
Personally I think Shaq would be enthusiastic but for me he hasn't got enough I don't see enough raw talent for him to improve to the extent needed. He is a hard worker and willing but that's not enough for a premiership striker and I just can see Shaq ever being that level

- and frankly if we are only looking to better those Adeabyor and Soldado as an option its a policy doomed to failure, We need to buy at least one striker and probably two who can take some of the load of Kane. Though I do believe if Oduwa was to work at playing through the middle he would offer at the very least some very different options to Kane and might make a viable third striker or wide forward given that he has tremendous pace and skill but he needs to harden up to achieve what his talent demands

Thought this may be of interest

Spurred On ‏@spurredontv 1h1 hour ago
Check out the first episode of Youth Watch with @craigvye where we talk about our academy young guns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya0HlEVYG58…

I wonder if the guy is ITK, or just picking up from media. Anyway I really liked the format of that. This SpurredOn is new I think and they're doing a decent job.

I would argue slightly about the Veljkovic/Matic comparison. Without knowing the exact figures I wouldn't say they have a similar stature, isn't Matic something like 6"4 I would say Veljkovic is average height for a CM 6"1 he's not massive by any means. And I wouldn't say he is big in the challenge either though he does hold his own in tackles a lot more. His main asset is his positioning.

I don't see Shaq as anywhere near good enough to act as cover up front he doesn't have enough to his game imo. I would like to see Oduwa challenged to play there at least as a wide forward where he could be a decent option if you can channel his undoubted ability and make him believe in himself a bit more I hope the loan at Luton would have helped in that direction

I think Ogilvie would benefit from a loan the season before last he was the best player in the youth team. Unfortunately he missed the start of last season and took a while to get going again. I would have thought Coventry would be a good fit. Fredericks for me is not a good enough defender to be a premiership player and I would think he may move on, we have better options.

Winks I would like to see around the first team he had a very good season last year and deserves an opportunity. Onomah who was terrific for the U21's last year really maturing as a player. I think might initially be pushed forward as a more attacking midfielder but to do that he needs to add goals to his game he has the ability and intelligence to do so but needs to add the belief. Veijkovic I see him as a defensive midfielder he has awful lot to offer there. As a centre back I think he lacks a bit of pace but he does things nice and simple and that might be a little unfair

Sonupe is a player I think is fun to watch be he needs hardening up and to find out his level. At the moment he is a long way from the first team but he has some raw materials that if you can hone them might make a interesting player but at the moment its a big if

Maghoma was talking about impressing enough for a loan last season that would be a big achievement for an 18tr old centre half - I don't see Ball or Ward as being good enough long term for the first team in the short of long term and I would tthink Ball will be loaned out.

Its going to be interesting to see how Amos and Azzoui progress this season

Generally agree with a lot of this,, though with no real rationale I think Coulthirst may come good this year. He didn't progress as hoped and his ability may have been accentuated bt those he played around but something about one of his goals last year showed me that he has enough to create for himself. His biggest weakness is his composure and finishing, which for a striker are quite essential, so I live more in hope than expectation. Also like the idea of Oduwa being tried as a striker.

A loan for Ogilvie would be idea just like you said. Would love him to find thhat old form, and with 3 LBs at u18s with Muscatt having already played u21s and Walkes able to cover there we really do not need him here.

Sonupe is a conundrum. He is rapid has the ability ot beat a man but literally has some of the worse end product I've seen. He is like Kyle Walker he will get to the wings and either smash it at the first man or lob it so far out of the area, negating the advantage he got in the first place. Sadly though he is in one of the more favourable positions as we are weak on the wings. If he improved he would actually jump ahead of Oduwa seeing as we are weakest there but just can't see it improving. He is a really nice guy though so hope he does develop.

Your comments on Ball and Ward are interesting. I think Ball could play El for us atm and has improved greatly the season before last. I think he will have a PL future but has too much competition, and same with Ward. I think Ward stands a better outside chance, being so versatile though. Him and Miller could really fulfill a need there and I think both will be PL players in the future.

I agree Ball had a better season last year until he went on loan, what basically did was cut out the silly errors which he was prone to - I just don't see enough in him, he is a decent player without having that bit more that cuts him apart. I don't really see him as good enough for Spurs -

Ward is difficult to access for me,he went aw,ay to America as a full back come winger has returned as a midfielder. I saw him in a couple of games before he went on loan and he was tidy but not spectacular - I am not sure about him I haven't seen anything special in him but again he is decent player and he appears to be moving forward - atm my opinion is that we have better options than him.

Miller I like but I don't see a role for him - he has skill can finish but just lacks a position for me.

ps I love the description of Sonupe - one of the joys of watching the U18's was listening to McDermott hollowing at him and Eman wandering around oblivious to it - but the lad has some real skills to work with plus genuinely scary pace and is fun to watch.

Nicely packaged, but the guys could have learned everything they said from reading this thread ! I'll watch some of the later shows for fun though,

Do you know if the guy being interviewed worked for the club? It was hard to tell if his knowledge was from his own opinion or based about hear say and snippets of watching youth games.

He said nothing that was not known before - if he had worked for the club 'd have expected some snippet to be said. even 'he works really hard in training' so 'd be surprised if he were anything other than a fan, possibly doing 'media studies'

Yes it was a bit grey, but seemed 100 percent on Thinks like josh being approached by other clubs which I thought was logical but speculation but he was saying like he knew for a fact. Who knows, just looked on the official site at the youth updates some of the links don't work, Infoseek wrong, and they can't get photos for a lot of the first team how bloody hard is that? Fredrick's is listed as 6ft 3 so it's always hard to know what to believe.

But nothing more than he could have read by reading this thread and/or tracking Windy etc. That's why I'm not convinced he's got any other information sources or works for the club

He's a (somewhat) famous actor, used to play some policeman on hollyoaks, so wouldn't be surprising he if maybe knew someone that worked at spurs, but he doesn't work there himself

They drew 3-3 with strong Spammers team last match so pretty strong side. Especially considering the age of our lads as well as lack of experience in front of crowds.
