If I wanted to watch a bunch of toffs having a wank-off I'd go to the House of Commons.

Judging by the weather forecast, this weekend's race more likely to be about avoiding drowning......

I went once. Ended up about 5 of us doing acid and climbing up on the tables of The Old Ship and trying to to summersaults of them.

I think a boat sank that year. I don't think that it had anything to do with us, but who can say for sure ... didn't see the boats. or the river.

Oh yeah...er...me too :shifty:

It was definitely a 'who you know, not what you know' situation. The person who wrote my reference was/is very chummy with key people in their philosophy department. I just couldn't imagine many worse environments to be in. Plus having to actually work for my education rather than have everything handed to me on a plate, there was no way I could have paid their ridiculous fees anyway.

I've been a couple of times (COME ON YOU OXFORD!) but actually as a spectator event it's a bit pap.

Much better to get in a pub, get hammered and watch it on tv where you can actually see the whole race.

I've got a sneaky suspicion that Aston University might win it this year.

Don't be disheartened Cambridge, at least you came second...out of two, which is essentially last.
