They also (sometimes) tell them the truth.

Yep. However...

It's perfectly apparent that De Boer is one of those on our short list. It's also apparent that Levy is taking a great deal of time and care over this decision. He knows how important it is to get it right. So why would he not make any kind of contact with De Boer? Why wouldn't he want to hear from the man himself about his vision and how he would go about achieving it?

He may well do and that might be why we don't have a manager yet. He also may have met with him. I don't know. All we have as solid information is that De Boer has said there hasn't been direct contact yet.

It's solid information that he said it. Not solid that it's true! After all, last time he talked about Spurs making contact with Ajax, Spurs didn't react too well to the revelation. So maybe he's now just being discreet by telling a little, white lie?

179 pages in this thread, 131 pages in the Man from Murphy one, and we might as well have been discussing 'Would Scarlett Johansson be a hotter shag than Cheryl Cole?' for all anyone actually knows. We could have had Kim Basinger or Susan Sarandon lobbed in as the left-of-field experienced candidates.

Scarlett has a better record in the cups but Cheryl's PPG is impressive, tough call..

......though, surely a lack of experience would be considered a good thing?

You just know someone would come in and suggest Angela Lansbury as well...

Scarlett has a better pair up front but Cheryl is tighter across the midfield. However, apparently Cole's a bit vulnerable at the back so I'd have to go with Johanssen as, ahem, our next manager.

Thats the thing what was reported here was different to what was said there. Overmars said he was contacted about De Boer's contract. De Boer never said he was interviewed or met Levy. He just confirmed what overmars said

What with Cheryl's nightclub scuffles she could well turn out to be another Pardew, Scarlett would get my vote too

If Pochi isn't announced this week, it means Levy is waiting for FdB to return from vacation to start serious talks with him.
