It's hard to overstate how much Brum fucked themselves when they sacked Rowett. First Zola, now 'Arry. Big names don't equal good managers in that league.

Ther reason for firing Rowett was ridiculous. Openly saying he wasn't a big enough name and hiring Zola, a big name but has continuously failed in management.

New owners were ready to spend so Harry with his wheeling and dealing, contacts in the game etc seemed a sensible enough hiring.

But Redknapp was moaning about signings near the end of the window, got bad resuts and moaned about injuries today. Just felt like he was done and not up to a new challenge.

Interesting talking point in the Brentford/Leeds game. As Brentford's Watkins was taking a penalty, a screwed up ball of paper was thrown in to the 6-yard box from the Leeds fans and he subsequently missed.

He didn't appear to blame the object for his miss, but had the referee seen it should he have ordered the pen to be retaken regardless of whether it was a miss, save or a goal?

Two goalkeeping howlers in the Brentford/Leeds game.

Lost me 30 quid too.

Tried to find any rules on this and couldn’t. Seems like the only refereeing rules concerning the fans are on pitch invasions, which seems mental.

That beach ball goal against Liverpool was allowed to stand a few years ago, so I guess it’s just a free for all.

Personally I would have had it retaken, but only because it was a miss against Leeds.

The Darren Bent beech ball goal came in to my mind too, but then again that was from open play so I'd imagine that would be a far harder decision from the referee than a penalty retake.

Thankfully Brentford won anyway.

...which fucked me off because I cashed in on my Liverpool/Bayern/Brentford to win acca at 1-1. Bastards!

Just hope our lad CCV wasn't at fault for any Fulham goals. By all accounts he's been very good, as have the whole team. Clarke scored four in a game recently and another hat-trick now.

I really, really hope we go for Sessegnon. Really think he'd develop superbly under Poch.

Ccv had a howler for the 1st. Short back pass. Didn’t see rest think he got subbed on the hour.
Pretty convinced will be wolves and villa automatic.2 proper football clubs hopefully can get ride of Bournemouth this season just shouldn’t be in PL.

Whaaa?

Bournemouth deserve to be in the top devision. Its a nice story as well. Thank god football isn't static with only traditional "big clubs" being able to be able to get in the top league.

Bournemouth is a very old club who has battled in the football league. They came up through the leagues not through a massive cash injection but getting the most out of mostly league one journeymen. They deserve the chance to have a long run in the top division.

Bournemouth really are a proper football club, no massive money, no massive branding and no glory seeking fans. Not some plastic club but one who has fought and fought and fought.

That's not entirely true, they do have a rich owner who pumped a fair amount of money in. Far from City levels of injection, but still a fair wedge.

But totally agree with your point. Bournemouth have brought a lot more to the PL than a good many "big" clubs have in the last few years - Villa among them.

Not exactly true, when they got promoted to the championship, they had the highest spend in league one, dwarfing everyone else.
When they were in the championship, they were only outspent by Notts Forest, 'Boro & Leeds, but they also had far less income to net off against. Leeds & Forest were also hit with transfer embargos for breaking FFP rules.
In their promotion years, they were heavily bankrolled by their majority shareholder Maxim Demin through massive loans.
They hit the Prem at the right time with the new tv deals etc.

Not saying they haven't got a right to be playing premier league football, every club has (except mk dons), but it isn't exactly a fairytale in them getting from the bottom to the top, they got their success in the same way most other club do, out spending the rest.

Yeh, but in respect to PL he is worth nothing. His estimated worth is 100 million. Only Burnley's owners are worth less.

Similarly in the two seasons spent in the Championship Bournemouth only signed three players.

Money was pumped in in League one, though nothing compared to most championship clubs, but in the Championship they were not at all big spenders and spent less than most teams.
