Andy Roddick is such a good guy, feel sorry for him even though I was cheering for Federer. That's 3 Wimbledons I think he's lost to Federer now.

The think that hurts so much is Roddick is custom made to win on grass, he just happens to be around at the time of Federer.

During the Murray-Roddick match the commentators made a point when they said if it weren't for Federer Roddick would have a number of Grand Slam titles under his belt.

Larry Stefanki has done a brilliant job with Roddick and I hope that match shuts up those of Roddick's critics who say there is nothing to his game except a big serve.

Roddick did great. If he keeps playing like that he will have another day in the sun. Strong guy as well, I would have been crying my eyes out.

On another note, this notion that "If it weren't for Federer, Roddick would have won more Grand Slams" is just a bit ridiculous. Oh, if it wasn't for the fact he's not the best in the world.

What a fantastic match, for me the two best players in the competition were Tommy Haas and Roddick, I'm basing this on performance and their attitude throughout the tournament.

A great Wimbledon, can't wait till 2010!

Wow. 72 games not including the tie-breaks, and only 3 were breaks of serve! Absolutely amazing.

Not quite the epic that last years final was, but a good match nonetheless. So impressed with Roddick this last two weeks, his whole career has been turned around since he hired that new coach.

They weren't half bigging up Larry Stefanki, I'm sure it was Roddick who was playing, but the camera was cutting back to Stefanki every other point. Roddick has always had a big game and is suited to grass. Since he lost some weight his movement has been so much better and he has been able to hit more shots on balance. He played brilliantly last night (and against Murray) but I wouldn't put it all down to Stefanki.

Let's face it just 4 weeks ago he got absolutely embarrassed by Monfils at the French Open. He played some great tennis this week and looks like he has some belief back but whether that means he can match it with the top guys consistently I'm not sure.

I've never been as gutted for a player as I am right now. Must kill to lose a match like that.

I wanted Federer to win, right up until the point he did win and then I was gutted for Roddick. It's great to watch a truly great champion like Federer (and Tiger Woods). Getting to watch them in their prime you get a sense of history being made all the time. I guess like watching Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretsky or Pele.

The think that hurts so much is Roddick is custom made to win on grass, he just happens to be around at the time of Federer.

I'm not sure it would have made much difference if he was around 10 years ago. He still would have been up against Sampras and the result would have been the same.

gutted for Roddick, cannot stand that prick Federer

Bit harsh. Federer seems like a really down to earth guy as does Roddick. I hope Roddick can pick himself up from this and continue with this form. He'll get a great reception when he comes back next year I'm sure.

Don't get me wrong, there was some decent tennis, but it was all a bit predictable. Serve was only broken a couple of times, even the rally's were classic.

Such a shame Murray didn't get through to final, I would have fancied him against Fed.
