Any rain circling around Perth the next few days (fingers crossed)?

I would rather pull an all nighter on xmas day watching the MCG Test knowing that we are not 3-0 down with nothing to play for.

Apparently, there is rain forecast on Sunday and Monday I believe.

What's Devon Malcolm up to now? If our bottom order is going to collapse I would at least like to see the big man drag that monster-weight bat to the stumps and start swinging it around like he's trying to behead a dragon.

Used to love seeing him walk out as last batsmen, knowing that each ball has a 50/50 chance of being a wicket/astronomical six, leaving a ball boy needing an oyster card to retrieve it in the same day's play.

I see the press were laughing at Matt Hayden for not having heard of Malan before

Well I have not heard of this Mitchell Marsh creature before either

What a complete shower of shit. Seriously.
It is ironic that Steve Smith just said the bowler who worried them most was Malan!
Mitch Marsh will bat to get his 200, then explode tomorrow. Expect to see us go for another 150 or so in the first hour and a half, then throw you in.

Our bowling is just so average unless it's night time or English swinging conditions.

Only we could get 400+ first innings (should've been a lot more) and probably still end up losing the game (unless the weather saves us)

I doubt we will take 20 wickets once in the whole series...

I know made a lot of friends when I was there, I just find the attitude to sport to much.
Anderson gives as good as he gets no doubt as I’m sure a lot of the English guys do but I’ve never seen the England sides wicket keeper and the slips all sledging batsmen in between balls like the Aussies did to root or the way they talk in press conferences.
It’s bad sportsmanship and not necessary and it makes no difference to the results imo. Australia are 2-0 because they have been better than England in all departments not because of sledging
I hate to say it but as an Aussie who has been living in England for well over 20 years, you guys are just as bad if not worse.
As an optometrist I would only have to open my mouth to say hello to some patients and they would try to wind me up about the cricket when England were winning.
And then they expected me to test their eyes and help them to see better or diagnose eye disease and be sympathetic!
After a wind up!
So forgive me if I enjoy this while it lasts, because as others have commented on here, this is no vintage Australia team.

This is a average Australia side, our ridiculous players need to take that on board.
Not our best, but......, not the worst. Bowling line up is good. Top 2 worlds batsmen in Smith. Warner (you guys have seriously been lucky he hasn't exploded, and I think he will) is first class. Both Marsh brothers are in form and deserve their spot. Kawaja is the only problem in the batting line up. Happy with Paine. Good solid keeper who can bat.
Just remember 1989 on your turf. You guys labelled Captain Grumpys team the worst in history. How did that work out for you?

I would say there is not much between the 2 sides, both are good sides at home and poor playing in foreign conditions

Some tricky times ahead for England...Cook, Broad, Anderson all aging and no one to really replace them. England need to start looking further ahead with their selections.

Oh yeah, Paul Farbrace is an absolute fucking plumb!

An excellent three part series has just finished screening after each days play here in Australia. Called "Forged in Fire" it takes a close look at 4 ashes series. Players from both sides were interviewed and it really does show both the feeling both countries have toward the series, but also some of the lighter sides of the game. Some fair sledges from both sides to to be honest.

It really is well worth a watch.

Big shout out to David "Bumbles" Lloyd as well. We really do love the guy here in Australia. Such a funny guy.

Farbrace came across as the cricketing version of chemical Ali

How this tour pans out has been obvious for at least a year, a sound thrashing usually followed by a spate of retirements. Nasser said something the other day which I’ve wondered myself. Why don’t cricket teams ever pick teams for the conditions. If it isn’t going to seam or swing then having bowlers who strongly rely on that is about as useful as tits on a bull.

I fully expect to wake up in the morning to find the match over and look forward to seeing what spin chemical farbrace puts on it.
