Yeah...any sympathy he may have built up from the Gay Community will have been lost twice over by mocking a disabled boy. Should have known better that all things can be hacked these days.

The odds of a 5-0 are now almost not even worth looking at!

I don't think it will be 5-0 anyway. I actually think England and Australia aren't that far apart and I would back England to win at home but I think it will be 2-1 or 3-1 to Australia myself.

Got to laugh at the similarities with Beefy's career, i'm sure if camera phones were about in his day he'd be all over the news every day.

I also don't think we're going to get gubbed over there, Australia aren't that great at the moment. I bet Stuart Broad is glad someone else is going to cop the flak this time.

That's much worse than the fight.
Great cricketer seems like an absolute scumbag though

Very true re Botham, he did his best to get kicked out when people only had Polaroid cameras as evidence!

Sorry boys but I'm confident it will be 5-0, their bowling attack is better than ours in their conditions. They've got genuine heat and a spinner who although pretty pony, backs himself and will take twice the amount of wickets that Moeen does.

They have got genuine pace but have they got any outstanding bowlers? England always played Brett Lee well and he was probably quicker than any of the Aussie bowlers.

The thing is our best batsmen not only handle pace but thrive on it, Cook, Root, Bairstow, Stokes :cautious:
Ali is a bit of a target for the short stuff but can still use pace well. But god forbid Ballance gets the nod as he's just like a punch drunk boxer that won't go down against real pace. just about surviving until the ref steps in. Just reliant on someone staying with Cook long enough to really take the sting out of the attack for our less good middle order (apre Root, Pre, Stokes :cautious:, Bairstow, Ali) to come in.

I also think our bowlers can thrive in their conditions though; Anderson can swing it anywhere, and can bend his back when he wants to, Broad can surprise a few with his bounce, and Stokes :shy: could get real swing and bounce out there, will be interesting to see if Ali can get drift over there (which is when he is at his best)

Always love this series though, watching sport in your pants always makes it better

A couple of days ago, I checked the prices about a 5-0 Aussie win. They ranged from 8-1 (Coral or Ladbroke) to 16-1 (Bet365). Now they mostly range from 7-1 to 10-1.

I'd love to be that optimistic, but the fact is that the West Indies bowling attack troubled us a lot more than it should have done. Gabriel bowled quick, but not as quick as Cummins. And if Starc gets back fit, it's not worth thinking about.

Would love to be positive about it, but this has an air of 2013/2014 about it, sincerely hope I am wrong.

Will be up watching every ball for at least the first couple of hours though and cant wait.

I think Hazlewood is a good bowler, and Cummins now that he is fit again, and as I said despite not rating Lyon that highly he is so confident in himself that he just takes wickets. We might have played Lee well over here in 2005 but the return series in 06/07 he was a decent member of their attack that smoked us 5-0.

If the series was over here I would be more confident in a shoot out victory for us like we did last year, but I just cant see it at all this time round over there.

TBF we did have a summer of pretty bowler friendly pitches, I mean that spell Stokes bowled was crazy, hooping around so much that no one could get near the ball.

Less swing and a little bit of seam with the Kookaburra, so if Cook and his buddy for this tour can do well against the opening spells we should be competitive...

And as bearish as I am over our chances, maybe Adelaide will be our chance to stop a whitewash :D

We might get the ball to do a bit at night :woot:

It's worth noting that this time around the Ashes are only being shown live on BT Sport.

F ing hate bt. I pay £70 a month for tv to basically watch football and cricket and I still miss or have to watch a dodgy stream to see a lot of it

Seems like mocking Harvey is quite mainstream now. Bizzare. I find inappropriate things funny but a disabled kid? Nah.

Maybe he wanted to leave the audience wanting more, and he didn't want to go through a decline that would leave people asking why he's still hanging around. On the other hand, maybe he's been offered a media gig that's just too good to turn down.
Why play county cricket when you know you can select a couple of weeks at the IPL and take home ten times the amount, not that KS has a cash flow problem!

So much for 'competition'. I can't watch us in the CL and won't be able to watch the Ashes.
Boxing Day will be interesting in my house as I'll need to find a new excuse to stay up...
