Got my ICC world cup email yesterday saying I was successful in the cricket family ballot...woop!

Find myself watching the women's tri series and quite enjoying it - a few years ago I would have scoffed and probably said "what next?...monkey tennis?!.
Some of the catching and fielding leaves a lot to be desired but they play the game with smiles on their faces, and Tammy Beaumont and Nat Sciver are quite entertaining in the batting department. Beat NZ to win the series yesterday, so will catch up with the C5 highlights later.

See? The 21st century isn't anywhere near as bad as you thought! :D

Now if we can only get you to apply the same open mind to the EU ... :cautious:

Joe Root needs to be dropped from our ODI/T20 side. The team have completely left him behind in terms of quality.

He lacks the fire power to hit boundaries and just does not score at a quick enough rate to mask that.

Stokes needs to come into the team ahead of him.

He was dropped from the last 20/20 but yeah, he needs ODI runs badly. He needs Test runs badly too for that matter.
Yeah, I was glad to see him dropped from the 20/20 so I'm surprised to see him playing for the ODI side regardless. 20/20 and ODIs are so similar these days there's no point dropping somebody from one and not the other.

He's unquestionably the most talented player in our test side but his inability to convert a half century into a century is becoming tiresome.

India 180-5 on a spinning pitch so far. England must not let them get much over 260 as we are going to struggle to play their spinners
