If I was Archer I’d be fucking fuming. He dragged us through yesterday and these fucking shit pricks are taking turns to slap him in the face.

Absolutely under no circumstances should Archer be batting again today but he’ll be at his mark after lunch.

After lunch?

These batsmen are absolute piss, so weak. The Ashes will be gone by Sunday, without some miracle.

They don't exist in this set-up, unfortunately. Look at the way we batted in the 1st test to try to save the match. Now compare that to the Aussies' efforts in the last match. Absolute chalk and cheese. We're not made of the same stuff. No willingness to put a high price on our wickets. No grit, no graft.
I'm sorry but I disagree, we have a few capable batsmen who are easily equal to the Australians on their day. We can all point to an instance where a team showed grit, graft, quality, or whatever else but we took (roughly) 8 for 40 yesterday, where was the Australian grit and graft there? We're poor, I'm not denying it, but we've still got quality players who just aren't performing as well as they can and the few that aren't good enough are really showing it.

I've been hyper critical over the past few months and had I my way I'd make a lot of changes but I maintain we're not that far of the Aussies even though right now it looks awful

I've picked totally the wrong day to stand up for these fuckers haven't I? :D

It's the lack of application of the basics of Test cricket batting that is bothering me. Burns and Stokes have let themselves down this innings after applying themselves in previous matches. That starts at the top.

Surely Root will fall on his sword after this match if we get beaten badly.

It's not as if he can even point to his own performances and say others let him down, he's been as bad as any of them and worse than quite a few. IMO his game has regressed massively and he needs a big run of scores to justify his place in the team as a batsman before we even talk about his captaincy.

The difference between the sides is that awful spell of bowling from Stokes and Woakes.

Both teams are pretty shit at batting but those 11 overs where they scored 70 runs is probably going to decide this game.

The only surprise is that people are still surprised by this. How can you be? It's been going on for years now. It's endemic and they're not interested in learning and getting better. As I've said hundreds of times now, standards are shite (all across test cricket) and it will keep on happening.

The bowling has been tidy and controlled, a really good effort and it's nibbled about, but every England dismissal they could have done more. You had the four obvious ones, but Root, decent ball or not, doesn't get forward to it and being so far back gives the ball every chance to do something and Bairstow is fiddling at one quite a way outside off. It's a crap effort all round.

And yet if a couple of them stay in for a while and manage to have a bit of a dart we can still easily get back to about parity. And then it's back on the Aussies to avoid total meltdown in the batting department.

Thank you.

If anyone expected anything other than this they haven't been paying attention. No team is putting on scores unless the star batsman sticks around and he might get a bit of help from someone else.

Where England go I've no idea because I don't think there is too much in county cricket that hasn't been looked at before and the standard isn't anywhere near what it was to judge players.

It genuinely makes me froth at the mouth in anger at how pundits, commentators and fans inside the ground find excuses for England.

“Unlucky England. Just excellent bowling from the Aussies”.

Fuck. Off.

5. FIVE of our wickets were self inflicted by brain dead, useless pricks swinging their bats at balls that are miles from the stumps.

Tell it like it is. The England batsman have been an embarrassment and have let the nation down. All the support and interest they garnered from the World Cup is all gone now. Pricks.

Not sure why anyone is surprised, we put all the effort in the world into fixing the one day side but the test side wont be getting the same treatment. They're literally inventing a new shorter format instead

Sadly it’s only going to get worse for the test team with the introduction of the rediculous and unnecessary hundred tournament next summer.
The ECB will only learn when fans get fed up with this type of showing and the grounds for test matches start to become half empty like they are around pretty much everywhere else in the world.
