Barton will never be a Spurs player. Levy wouldn't sanction the Bellamy deal due to his character...I doubt he'd change his tune for that vile little, cigar-in-eyes stubbing, retarded little fucktard.

You are spot on Spurger.

Well so many people who're ITK say Diarra is signed, so by process of the days dwindling I'm guessing.

It really starts to happen with 2 weeks to go, its a wages thing apparently?

Watch Arsenal stuff Nasri around for a couple of weeks then he will join Citeh and then they will get Mata.

Diarra played 23 games for RM laat year in la Liga. Of course he is welcome at Spurs. We need a nucleaus of about 18 top players. Id say we have 10 or 11 and no strikers.

Luka is no problem. I just hope it stays that way the longer it goes on the more he will realise this Chelsea move is never gonna happen

lets hope something big happens this week to really turn his head around to our thinking. As i said in another thread it would be an amazing window and a real sign of intent if this llorente interest comes off, as does this diarra/benzema deal. although apart from diarra i cant see any of the others happening and us ending up with rodallega on the last day

am I the only one that doesn't particularly want Diarra?

In many ways I'd actually prefer Barton. Meh.

I did an analysis of why I think he will be a failure for us in his thread. A failure almost everywhere, an archaic model of the DM, incapable of pushing between the CB's to release both backs. Also, an egomaniac that has even annoyed Jose. This is a man who can handle the likes of Terry and Christiano, yet thinks this guy is a problem.

I think people need to realize that the age of Makalele is done and the role, like all roles in football, is evolving to the new strategies of the day. And whatever Diarra was strong at that set him apart at the end of the age of Makalele no longer makes him great in the new age of Bisquits.

D.A.N? Someone's name? Or a cryptic?

D = Diarra?
A = Adebayor?
N = Negredo?

(yep, I know... clutching at straws...)

You're a great poster DP, but I disagree entirely.

For me Diarra is a massively underrated player. Ok Jose might not fancy him...but that could be for all manners of reasons.

He's an improvement on Palacios (who I love...by the way)..and is a decent replacement for the injured Sandro. Would be a great signing for us.

If we sign Diarra does that mean Lennon gets dropped and VDV moves right like this?:

Walker--Daws--King--BAE
------Diarra----Sandro----
VDV-------Modric----Bale-
---------Benzema-------

:grin:

Me likey that team!

Can't say I agree with your assessment at all. Diarra is much more than a one dimensional Makalele DM.

His performances at Madrid have been, on the whole, superb. The fans love him, and Mourinho never at all wanted him to go until it became clear he wouldn't back down.

The evidence suggests he places regular games week in and out, and feeling cherished as a core member of a team, over any of the more glamorous glitzy parts of the game such as the fame attached to playing at a club like Madrid.

He caused absolutely no problems at Portsmouth under Harry, when he was cherished, and playing regularly in what was a very good team.
