I assumed that they were quoting him from COYS, they had this in the same post as the 'apple pie' quote:

no, POTL only post on COYS today was about Caulker loan, saying its only a loan and he will be back at the club.

With Keane? For a number of reasons;
- There is little or no interest in him at the moment.
- For the last 2 seasons he has been loaned out to Celtic then Spam, making it clear that he no longer part of our thinking. In between he couldn't get a berth on the subs bench.
- The club has stated that we need to free up squad positions, to sell before we can buy. If we load up our squad further then his value will decrease further.
- He's one of the top wage earners at the club and he can't get a bech warming position let alone a start. If we don't sell him we will still be paying a further 60 htousand (or more) per week for surplus.
- It'd stop the whingeing about how we seem to be unable to shift our unwanted players.
- It might just generate interest for other surplus players if other clubs can see we are willing to sell for a price that suits them. Interest leads to competitive bidding, which leads to an increase in value (theoretically of course)
