Daniel is not a Crouch fan at all as he is a Harry buy, so he will offload for decent money at the best opportunity. We need to offload players first which is proving more difficult than expected, so its my opinion that Crouch will be sold to fund one of the strikers Harry has been chasing around Europe :hump:

thats huge risk if players u want are not lined up and commit to you. you dont sell your snooker table and buy a cue do you? where have i hear that saying before!!

honestly if spurs sell modric this summer thats it for me. what does that say about us..i really wud find it disgusting , really would, first decent sign that we are putting a proper team together and what do we do, sell to our fucking rivals up the road. it would be pure joke. im a spurs fanatic since little kid but i grow weary of what goes on behind scenes at spurs i really do. its time to put up or just shut up spurs. like i said million times. if we want club to be best we have to keep best, thats beginning and end of it. if we have new stadium in 3 years time who do we want running out as captain and leader on that first day, people like jenas and bentely and keane.. give me break. we have some serious players now lets do something about it

Yeah, obviously I'd be disappointed if we sold Modders, but at the end of the day I support Spurs, not Luka Modric. If he eventually did decide he'd call it a day with Spurs, I'd survive, I survived when Jurgen left and he was a proper hero to me in my childhood. Of course I want Modric to stay for the rest of his career, but, he isn't bigger than us as a club (not that I think he thinks he is). I'd be disillusioned if we CHOSE to sell him, especially to the pikeys or yanited, and would find that hard to swallow, but if he chose to instigate a move, I'd find a way to cope with a team boasting Bale, vdV, Sandro et al.

Imagine the reaction on here if we started next season with the lineup:

------------Friedel---------------
Hutton--Dawson--Gallas---Ekotto
Bentley--Jenas--Palacios--Pienaar
-----------Crouch-Defoe--------

only eleven players?

I have to admit I admire your passion for the club, but I don't believe you'd finish with Spurs if we sold Modric. I agree with what you say about how important it is for us to push on, and were we to sell Modric to United we would be tarnished with the 'United's feeder club' tag for years, but if you're a real fan you'll always support the team, even if some of your enthusiasm has been dulled.

I remember Sold-his-Sol Campbell leaving, and feeling like I could never even look at a Spurs shirt again without being angry, but sure enough I was cheering us on at our next match. I don't think being a Spurs fan is much of a choice. It's a ride that we hope will be more ups than downs.

absolutely man. i spend fortune coming to watch spurs and since harry joined we are getting better and better and he is putting together a proper team and ist great to come and watch some great stuff at times. having those above him pull his pants down by selling modric for money and thats all it is is a complete joke for lots of reasons. what proper aspiring and hungry footballer wud come to us then knowing we sell our best players willey nilly..i certainly aint coming to watch the lieks of jenas and others i wont mention in team in case i get a red card again but love seen top players like modric bale sandro vdv at spurs

campbell for me was alot different. ill tell u why. ok he was top player but he was a defender playing in a shit team in my view. thats why he left lets be honest. not going to go down that road but modric is different gravy and really is out heartbeat. rip thats out and we are way back to those days in 90's and early 2000's when we were just going thru motions imo

I could respond but will just direct you to Spurger King's post, that pretty much sums up what my response to you would be.

All I will say is that you have to take the rough with the smooth, the good times with the bad times. If you were to walk away thats a funny way of showing you are a true fan.

Wow just read all the ITK's of today and its definitely interesting to see how our transfer targets are reflecting our targets as a club. a pretty steep amount for a non-epl striker, and a new youth scout? Entertaining offers of VdV too, maybe resorting back to the 4-4-2?

Pinch of salt taken of course!

Just saw this from The Sun, a journalist who is out in Denmark for the U21 championships. Interesting/worrying?

SCOUTS from every Premier League club are in Denmark to check out the latest footballing talent - except, rather oddly, Tottenham.
Hmmm. Does Harry know something we don't?

I know what you mean, but I always saw Campbell as being one of our crown jewels. He was a player we were going to build a team around, and push on to challenge the top teams. When he left we entered that dire period where the best players were not interested in coming to us because they could see we were not keeping our best players.

Clearly it's a more serious situation with Modric in terms of his talent, and how close we are to having a genuinely great team, but on the other hand we have other great players that would soften the blow...a luxury that wasn't there when Campbell went all Judas on us.

Hmmm doubt its true, Surely we must have someone out there watching players? Pretty incompetent if we havent bothered.

this IS strange... I mean, if Swansea are there then surely so should we?
My immediate reaction is to dismiss this information as poppycock. But maybe that's because I want it to be poppycock.

(note to self: never ever use the work 'poppycock' again...)

Why would the journo state this though? Seems like an agenda of some sort by the Sun? Or are the scouts just too busy getting us the next centre forwards....

PERSPECTIVE NEEDED

brownheads update said that offers might possibly be 'entertained' for VdV. This means that if a whopper of a bid came in, say £20M+, then they would consider it. It would be foolish not to.

This.

Over reaction from everyone else entering the VDV leaving debate.

Fear not, we've got scouts at the over 31 tournament. Probably.

Not really over reaction. We are not skint and if one of our best footballers, one of only a couple of top class players we have isn't looking to move, why would be considering selling him for 20m ? Who would we replace a top class player like that with for 20m ?
