nice to hear that leandro is all done and dusted. I feel that we wont get another striker and would get another creative player in, or also a center back just to freshen up the squad

It's all very quiet on the Aguero front. Maybe we should slip in and get him as clearly no-one else wants him

Calm down people. This is the UEFA U21's. It's not the U19 or U17 World Cup. It's U21 and everybody is known and many of the players are 22/23.

Let's look at who is involved

1) England - if we need a scout for this, that is unforgivable

2) Spain - nothing here that we shouldn't already know

3 and 4) Ukraine and Belarus - probably talent here we might be unaware of, but are we going to fight Russia and an improbable visa for this? Probably not.

5) Iceland - we would know already

6) Denmark - well scouted country as is

7 and 8) Switzerland and Czech Rep. These are the only two that might have something below our radar. But even so, both send their youth to Germany or Italy and rarely to England.

Really better ways to spend our time with the Copa coming up and I imagine we had representatives at Toulon where unknowns sometimes pop up

Yeah, and the games are on the idiot box, too. And it is barely underway. I'm sure there'll be representation there at some stage, especially if there is even a hint that a deal can be done that we're interested in.

We've frequently done good business from being at Toulon, great place to be.

"It would be mad not to consider a £20m bid for VDV"

So who is out there that can replace VDV that we could get for £20m and be an upgrade too?

We are not Charlton, West Ham, Sunderland, Newcastle etc etc. We are building a team not dismantling one. We dont need to sell to survive. We are not small fry, we are on the cusp of great things.

So if Villa come calling and offer £24m like what they did for Bent we should accept? Just so we have cash in the bank? :bang:

Ready made World Class players are a rarity for us. We normally nurture talent to become world class. So the only one we have bought with reputation and talent behind him in recent memory should be sold if we get a bid of £20m upwards?
So we sold Keane and Berbatov for a combined £50m, i see their replacements are doing well. So easy to pick up replacements for them wasnt it.

Unbelievable people would entertain bids for VDV. I can see the £20m in the bank getting us points single handedly.

The only person that needs upgrading on in our midfield is Lennon at a push. We have one of the best, if not the best midfield in the Premiership. Whiskey nose knows this, Chelsea knows this, Man City Knows this.
------------- VDV --------------
Bale - Modric - Sandro - Lennon

Its short sighted and naive to think he can be replaced so easily.

We need a 20 goal a season striker but not at the expense of a 14 goal a season midfielder.

Just mystifies me, maybe people can be happy to let him go, remember the dross of Jenas and Zokora coupled with Malbranque (he was good on his day)
:duh:

Just saw this from The Sun, a journalist who is out in Denmark for the U21 championships. Interesting/worrying?

SCOUTS from every Premier League club are in Denmark to check out the latest footballing talent - except, rather oddly, Tottenham.
Hmmm. Does Harry know something we don't?

Yep. The players there are:

1) Foreign
2) Not EPL Proven
3) Not into their 30's or 40's
4) Not mates with Jaime

Why waste our time and resource :-|

People still banging on about what they'll do if modric leaves. Jesus. How many times do you need telling?

My guess is another 378 times until 1st September ticks around. It's going to be a frustrating as fuck summer with people going into meltdown every other day when the rags regurgitate stories about Modric saying he "wants to leave" when in reality it's bollocks.

May-be this has something to do with the ITK about us getting a new youth scout? May-be he hasn't actually started working for us yet?

Thanks.
