Its a bit like watching Lamela, you see some real promise and some quality in parts but in your heart of hearts you know he's not going to cut it.....(i hope i'm wrong)

Unfortunately that's a spot on analogy at the moment.:D

He's a highly strung dude trying to do way too much for absolutely no reason as all we want him to do is calm the fuck down and play his natural game.

The guy is a proper puzzle.

It's like he needs 3 season to settle down properly or something.

I know he didn't wanna move from Roma and seems to be a real sensitive type but he needs to make that mental shift now and centre his game and just play freely. He's added the physical side that was lacking, now he needs to go all out to build proper composure into his game.

Dunno though...he's a conundrum for sure, this one.

At least he doesn't send me to sleep when I watch him though....

I mean what is the point of letting both Capoue and Stambouli go if you're not going to replace them with someone better. I appreciate why we would let Capoue go, but why Stambouli too.

Now see for me, that's watching Townsend.
I'm still holding out hope for Lamela, just one more season but he made progress last year, after a shitty first year.
I'm afraid to say that Townsend frustrates me now as he can't seem to take that next step.

That's why I'm excited about the chance of getting some new pace in the wide areas, something a bit unknown and different. We're too predictable at times.

Not ITK but i stopped watching the second series after the first 3 as not a patch on the first !
Berahino deal is still a maybe at this stage as we are always assessing our options.
It will probably be announced now that I've said that and i'm made to look silly.
You will will notice a lot of 'could' and 'probably' and 'maybe' this year which is a self preservation requirement for when things bloody change!

Personally, I hope the Berahino show gets cancelled after the pilot. It's a movie we've all seen before with a plot you can see coming a mile off.

Oh no you didn't!

Beware JJ, you will now be murdered with pass completion and chances created statistics! :nailbiting:

I totally agree though.

I'm all about multi-positional players and seeing other positional possibilities in players that aren't typically associated with them. Its importance will grow in the game.

People on here are seemingly unaware of how much poch is into that and how flexible his thinking is on this, hence they are perplexed at some of my adventurous team selections.

They'll see though.

I'm flexible about interior design but that doesn't mean I want to sleep on my wardrobe and hang my clothes up in my fucking bed.

Cue a guessing game of what strikers might be available as alternatives to Berahino.

But I guess in real life Spurs transfer team and Poch do that as a regular thing to re-assess all the options in case they change with movements at other clubs.

What if Poch has decided we dont need a CM because he could convert Dier successfully?

Some of the best best players started out in unfamiliar positions. Gerrard played fb, Sol Campbell played up top and Henry was a left winger

I think Dier is smart enough to be converted but I don't think he'll ever be quick and agile enough to be top class in that position - to use the ball effectively when on the half turn and under pressure from two opposition midfielders.

I think he will be a marvellous centre back for us in the future, however.

Now I'm just imagining you mincing around a penthouse with a ipad saying ,"owkay, so, we're going to have a fabulous mirror over the fireplace right there; the modular sofa will go here and I'm thinking a decadent little chi-chi mink rug could go riiiiight... here!"

Because Hat-ebayor would be a better alternative?

I don't think Berahino is the saviour, but he is a young up and coming player that knows how to score goals in the Prem. At this stage I feel like beggars really can't be choosers. We need other attacking options so who would you suggest?

Ade on his day is by far the better player, unfortunately his day his very rare and he is a nightmare to manage

What JJ says about Berahino does not surprise me.

If we do indeed sign N'jie then he is clearly going to fill the LWF (who can also play through the middle) option and SB is therefore less of a priority because that is also where he plays.

IMO we'd be much better off finding a second forward player whose specialist roles are RWF or CF.

If we are spending big then we have to use our new players in their best positions. We risk destroying our investment if not, IMO.

I actually rate Ade as a player, but he's clearly got off-field issues that influence his performances. Just seems like a trouble-maker that Levy can't be bothered to deal with any longer. Pochettino obviously won't play him again (or let him negatively influence the squad) so he needs to go. Happy for us to take a risk on a forward when they're replacing someone who rarely contributes.

To be honest no one on the football side really care about the wages. You just want a committed and talented footballer willing to turn it on in training and on game days.
Without giving anything inappropriate away, how would you like to see us line up this season... ie not JJ the ITK but the fan?
If that is an ok question?
