Ade on his day is by far the better player, unfortunately his day his very rare and he is a nightmare to manage

Exactly! You dont get 96 PL goals by being sh*t.

Hopefully he puts his football desires ahead of financial desires and push through a move to Villa so he can hit the 100 goal mark

What JJ says about Berahino does not surprise me.

If we do indeed sign N'jie then he is clearly going to fill the LWF (who can also play through the middle) option and SB is therefore less of a priority because that is also where he plays.

IMO we'd be much better off finding a second forward player whose specialist roles are RWF or CF.

If we are spending big then we have to use our new players in their best positions. We risk destroying our investment if not, IMO.

N'jie can play just as much from the right, and he has.

It's almost like we could use more than one pacey wide forward/striker

Almost? We definitely could use more than one pacey wide forward/striker, especially since we now currently have one pacey attacker, one designated LW, and one designated striker. Two pacey attackers solve quite the slew of problems.

All he's said is that it's a 'maybe', nothing about him being less of a priority. Definitely seems to be first choice, we just may not sign him.

I still keep going back to the ITK's answers earlier in the window...CM sorted, plenty of options have been explored...backed up JJ and Trix remaining calm throughout that our targets have not changed even though a few players have been difficult to move on.... Still hopeful on a solid, game changing CDM if and when that person becomes available

I'll have to trust you on this because the Frenchie I know says he mainly plays off the left, cutting in on his right foot.

I also am less convinced than many appear to be about Berahino being a 'wide forward'. He played the majority of his games through the middle last season and if we buy him to play him on the left or right we better be damn sure he's going to play consistently well there and score goals, for the money WBA will want.

Bottom line, if we get him it's great and I'd be happy because at the very least he is a superb back up to Kane.

However I would like the team to have a better balance this season. We looked totally lopsided last year, constantly avoiding the right and looking for Rose's pace down the left - the only pace we had in the team.

I actually rate Ade as a player, but he's clearly got off-field issues that influence his performances. Just seems like a trouble-maker that Levy can't be bothered to deal with any longer. Pochettino obviously won't play him again (or let him negatively influence the squad) so he needs to go. Happy for us to take a risk on a forward when they're replacing someone who rarely contributes.

Don't want to debate this too much but imo both HR and Tim git the best out of Ade by making him the main man and centre of attention. Both AVB and Poch are much more 'system' orientated and don't make Ade the centre of things and that's why Ade doesn't put the effort in - he just likes being the centre of attention

That is a massive over simplification, but not for here, if you want to keep talking about it quote me elsewhere.

Because Hat-ebayor would be a better alternative?

I don't think Berahino is the saviour, but he is a young up and coming player that knows how to score goals in the Prem. At this stage I feel like beggars really can't be choosers. We need other attacking options so who would you suggest?

We have better wide forwards here than Berahino, and I'd rather wait, use Chadli, Eriksen or even fucking Dier (has @thinktank suggested this yet ?) as a striker than chuck 15-20m plus another 12m on wages (?) on a player who has only proved he can score about 10 goals in open play in the EPL on his best season and has a very limited game and will be back up striker at best.

I'd rather pay 10m for Embolo (linked again today) and a third of those wages.

To be honest no one on the football side really care about the wages. You just want a committed and talented footballer willing to turn it on in training and on game days.

I dont think us fans do either... Its engaging the team effort and commitment that many of us love. Mason a prime example for me.

Sorry mate, just run that by me again, Dier is a better option as a STRIKER than buying Berahino, who is actually a forward. As in, not a central defender doing a creditable job a tiny bit further forward but a striker. Really?!

To be fair, Dier did round Adrian last year at West Ham better than I think any of us would expect from Soldado...

I sit in my office all day doing commercial property. No courtroom for me. It's almost like I advise on the legal side of buying and selling multi-million pound assets. Almost exactly like that.

Estate Agent then..................whooooo-hooooo!
