I doubt Levy would accept such a low amount with only a loan player coming the other way.

Was thinking more along the lines of £25m + Sahin? Higuain would be a dream though, I'd even do a straight swap with him for Luka

We'll end up with Carvalho lol

Perhaps 33 million plus Carvalho?

Smith is about 2.5 years younger than Naughton. Smith's playing style is more similar to Walker than Naughton (sheer speed - which might suit AVB) but maybe better than Walker on crossing ? Smith had a great season with Bournemouth (League 1 top 6) and I was expecting him to go on to a championship side but he went to MK Dons for half a season - he played in a televised cup game against QPR where commentators drooled over his crossing ('you won't see a better cross at any level') and certainly didn't look out of place against a lower Premiership side, getting up and down the right hand side with ease. He had 2 goals in MK Dons 'goal of the season' competition - not bad for a RB with half a season on loan.

Then had a move that looked good at the time to go to Championship Leeds, but unfortunately a change of manager who wanted to get rid of all loanees meant he only played a few games - but Leeds fans rated him in those games. Has also played a few England u 21 games.

Agreed Smith lacks experience - but think he would certainly walk into any Championship side, and likely perform well at any lower Premiership side. Would like to see him playing in pre-season and Europa League to see how he shapes up.

Smith also covers left back, but if Fryers is coming to Spurs, he would be an alternative (and longer term probably better to have a left footed LB).

Naughton is clearly an established Premiership class FB (after being on loan at Norwich), but maybe wouldn't be that happy being back up (so Naughton may be driving a move ?) - and possibly his valuation is highest now after the Norwich experience rather than after being a back up for a season. Also at 23 going on 24 Naughton may not improve as much as a 21 year old Smith.

Its possibly more risky to sell Naughton and rely on Smith/Fryers with cover from the likes of Vertonghen (as LB cover), but think Smith could prove to be at least as good as Naughton.

I will rep this when I get to a pc Spursidol, excellent post.
