The bid could very well be from United, if @Hertyids info has came from the Belgium training camp or European journalist.

I don't think we need 10 pages of Euros mean one versus Pounds means another club. Lots of reasons a club pays in one versus the other or would demand one in terms of expectation of retaining or accruing value over life of the deal. Or we may just need Euros for other deals and so it makes sense to make ManU provide it. So on and so forth.

I now know why a&c rips his hair out. I’ve edited my post to say it’s from Man Utd (because it 100% obviously is) so you can stop wondering if it’s from abroad.

Just once more.

It’s from Man Utd.

Bit of a dilemma for Levy if you ask me. 80m euros is an incredible bit of business but it does show how desperate Maureen is. Will Levy stick or twist for Martial? Let's remember that Martial has been a long-term target for Poch.

Utd will almost certainly pay more for Toby than any other club, but if we sell to them while they refuse to sell us Martial it's a small time move.

Unless that €80m is allowing us to go and get another of Poch's main targets. I'm reading into GF's ITK in this respect.

Nearly 30, we could be asking for it in euros so as not to lose on exchange rates if we are buying in Euros ;)
Precisely. As we will turn it around hopefully on DeLigt right away.
Still, if this is UTD, that is a ton of money. Levy has outdone himself on this one.

I wouldn't do any deal at all with MU unless Martial or Rashford were involved.

We've got teams to overpay for players in the past, Berbatov, Bale, & we've still come out worse off.

We won't stop the likes of MU trying to get our best players unless we prove we're equally attractive to some of their players.

It would be sickening to come away from this without Martial but you simply can't turn down that sort of money for a 29yo defender who spent half of the previous season out injured.

I think that bid is comfortably above the threshold of us being bent over by Utd there, considering all the info on Toby saying bridges can't be mended. Then take into account that we coped without him, he's 29 and has injury issues.

Hate selling to rivals, annoyed they stood firm on Martial, but that is a huge bid in seemingly a one team race for his signature.

Won't stop the press/pundits bringing it up every time we concede next season (selling Toby to Utd) but those c**** always have some mud ready to fling at us.

I imagine a lot of British clubs have already transferred a lot of their transfer budget into Euros give the state of the pound. They will also have GBP and euro accounts. I also imagine we’d rather receive money in euros for the same reasons.

Got to be the biggest bid for a defender of that age ever.

Ali z on contracts, more of the same:

No idea about a signing but as i have said many times in various posts Alli, Eriksen, Verts, Hugo and Dier signed or will sign new deal others also in the pipeline.

The announcements of contracts is down to timings on the PR front. Pochs was done and dusted the Monday before it was anmounced on the Thursday because of that lot down the road announcing Dick Emery.
I understand all the key ones central to Poch are already done.
I refer you back to my update 12 , contracts first then signings. The first signing is immenent, slight delay due to people being abroad etc.

Lovely update, I feel settled that Eriksen is sorted then as that’s what’s been losing me sleep. Can’t wait to see who signing number 1 is :)

hertyid on coys re Toby

Just received a text ”80m euro bid”
So have to assume Martial not coming then, all cash deal.
I assume Levy will accept.

Edit: it’s Man Utd so stop wondering if it’s a foreign club

Only Levy could get that kind of money for a player who’s not played in nearly a season and has already been successfully replaced.

Selling to a direct rival is always a bad idea, no matter what the price.

Man Utd already barely concede because of their adventureless football and amazing goalkeeper, Toby has had a bad injury and is 30 by the end of next season, and importantly he’s pissed off our manager massively and his transfer value depreciates massively the moment this window closes. Would prefer he went abroad but we have to be clever, he has to go to the highest bidder. It barely weakens us and it doesn’t overly strengthen Utd, not the way it would if it was any other top club anyway.

All I'm gonna say is Psg is about to be hit by fpp regulations and one if Daxler/Rabiot is available ?
