Also United may have bought and had euros well inadvance at a very good rate therefore, it works out cheaper for them as well in a way. Either way interesting info from GF, 80M thats hard to turn down and toby certainly doesnt seem to want to stay , so at that price deal, still united would be getting a fantatic player that has min 3 top years left and fills a massive needed hole for them, so maybe win win for all even at that very high price,

Yanited being extremely difficult with Martial to us. Maureen does not mind. Problem is they have 2 year option on his deal, so very difficult.

Not surprising. Anyone there with half a brain (I know I know) has to know Mourinho won't be there much longer and so selling a potential superstar and supplementing him with a crew of above aged players is dumb. That said Martial needs to kick up a fuss to get out of there, whether us or not, because he's just not going to get time.

Then it's time to see how much the want TA. The balls in our court & yes we can take 80M, but that won't stop them from coming back time & time again for our better players. Insisting someone like Martial is part of the deal might.

We would also need Mourinho to become agitated and start to demand that players are cut so that he can bring in attackers he wants. The board might want to keep hold of him - and for good reason - but if they have an agitated Mourinho it might make them more negotiating. Still, I can't see that happening yet. It may be best for us to move on.

It's a shame if we can't get Martial, but we've obviously got other options. Wasn't a 22 year old in Germany mentioned a few times? No guessing who today, or A&C might just close the thread!

Utd will almost certainly pay more for Toby than any other club, but if we sell to them while they refuse to sell us Martial it's a small time move.

Depends, if Poch has another option in mind of a similar calibre to Martial, then why hang all your plans on one player??

Personally I just can't see Martial coming to us, I just don't think Utd will play ball, but so long as we have viable alternatives, and don't waste the whole summer trying to turn Utd, I don't much care.

In which case I would expect Levy to accept the alleged 80m euros offer for Toby asap, ensuring that the medical and deal is completed before the WC.

We can then use some of the cash to pursue the player who appears to be Poch's top alternative to Martial, namely Zaha, taking advantage of Palace's financial problems.

If we got Zaha and Grealish in before pre-season training, and potentially de Ligt as the Toby replacement, this would be great and unusually early business for us. With all our WC players returning late in the summer, I'm sure Poch would be happy to have three new recruits available for a full pre-season.

Would be shocked if it was 80m Euros. I have a figure that is likely, but less than that. And wil not mention the amount.

Man Utd proving to be difficult with Martial due to contract situation.
Toby is still under contract with us so tell them to trade or look elsewhere.
This stinks of the walker deal again.
Mancs get player and we get shafted.
Mourhino will through a fit if he doesn't get his way and that's our leverage.
Time to play hardball and send a message to the others, unfortunately I don't think it will happen.

Does not work like that at all, and we would do the same now.

We're still going to get a lot of money for him so we aren't getting shafted. Don't forget that he can leave for much less next summer so we can't really afford to take the high ground on this deal.

I was hoping the Jones and Smalling partnership would be here forever. Will be gutted to break that up and see Toby slotting in there £70m in Levys pocket or not

The bid itself is hard to turn down given the circumstances (contract length and clause), but it would still strengthen a rival. Strong replacement needed.
