It’s not a 2 year option, his deal runs out next year and UTD have a 1 year option.
I can assure you there is to be exact 18 month
Option, which he agreed to when he signed. So in whole, as of now he has approximately 6 months short of 3 years there, as they would activate his option.

We can’t afford to reject any bid of 50mil or above for TA no matter who it’s from. End of.
I know some ITK says 80 mil euros, but in reality, as Herc hinted it be less, I would expect it to be more like 55 mil and it will probably all go straight on De Ligt. We might be able to add a PL and CL winners clause in for a few extra mil.

There is also an injury concern over Toby going forward, which Hercs alluded to in 2 of his posts in March and May:

Not going to happen! Be SHOCKED if that changed. There is actually better and younger out there. Media not far off our supposed interests. I don’t believe Toby is the same, along with his injuries. Let’s get real please. Commercial decision to sell in excess of 45m, we cannot ignore. And bring in a quality CH (versatile) with presence, pace, and distribution.

IF?! We could get Lagit, or however you spell his name, he will be a better superior player very quickly. That is my opinion. Also, Toby has very risky weakness in certain part of.....IF?! He stayed, and signed a 4 year contract, I doubt he will maintain 40% of those matches.

Personally speaking, with all the above to bear in mind, I would sell him now, opposed to keeping him, at a liability of circa 40-50 million in wages, bonuses etc. But most fans don’t see it this way. Right?

So £70m (or whatever the amount will ultimately be) for a player that will seriously start to depreciate in value over the next 18 months is a no-brainer

So we will have sold 2 of the best backline in the Prem to our rivals in back to back seasons and both of those clubs have refused to sell us Sancho and Martial in return...70 mill is great but Im not sure I can see a massive positive out of this tbh

I think somebody is trying to make themselves seem more important than they are (not sure who, don't know the source). But 80M? I don't believe that for a second, most of all because we would deal at less than that. So why say 80M, if a deal can be struck at less. If he goes, he WILL fetch an incredible fee, but I think not as much as 80.

I believe we will make 1 statement signing, in the region of 50m-packaged up to look more. I really do believe we will do that. The club know the backlash it would face, and also from the media. We planned carefully to do such this season.

I personally wouldn’t be too underwhelmed, because we are batting now in the big boy league. And the key players we want, others want also.

If United are giving 70m to 80m Euros, we should sell with or without Martial in it.
Quite simply, I look at this way - How much Toby can improve an already defensive side under Mourinho ?
Ofcourse, he improves them a bit but not by much.

It comes down to whether if we are signing the proper replacement for him.

I will say this for the last time. Trix! Help me please :barefoot:

Wake up people! Harping on about we don’t give them Toby, if they don’t give us Martial-we don’t deal to another club who are our competition. Unrealistic expectations. DL has to thi:smug:nk commercial value, and where the interest is. The only club in keen on Toby is Yanited. We therefore don’t have the bargaining power. DL is at his best when he can play clubs against each other, to get the best deal for us.
The manager has made it very plain to shift Toby.

Top Top decision by Lord Levy there, plain business sense to shift an unhappy player with a deal running down, no matter how painful it is.

Nobody’s bigger than the club and tbf, we also use this “contract expiring” tactic on buying players from smaller clubs down the food chain.

Face it lads, its all part of the food chain, if Utd cant stop Ronaldo, Beckham, RVN from joining Madrid, who are we to stop anyone leaving?

besides, since my spurs supporting days, we’ve lost gazza, klinsmann, sheringham, bale et al and still this is the best days we’ve had!

Thanks for the news Herc!
Long Live Lord Levy!!!!

There are comments and ratings being left for ITK that I don't like to see. Either remove them or you'll be removed.

This is going to be nipped in the bud before it snowballs, we've been down this road before.

Early doors the La Liga clubs were biting at Toby, along with Citeh. They found out how expensive he would be and cooled. I wish it was as simple as buying sweets, or our favourite dainties. It just isn’t.

But by the sounds of it De Ligt will cost around that, I wouldn't call him a statement signing, as much as I would be happy to get him assuming Toby's off.

The problem is though Herc if we sell Toby for anything like £50m-£70m, one £50m+ signing will not be seen as a statement at all, at best standing still as we may need to spend a similar amount just to replace Toby and even generally positive fans like myself will feel very let down indeed.

Think some of you need the get a reality check. The two Manchester clubs can overpower us in a lot of areas but we are rapidly gaining on them.
