Much ITK last few days about "building up to something" and spreading these contract releases and other announcements up. Now this is just me extrapolating but what type of announcement would be big enough to "build up" to?

I could maybe Pulisic combined with a Nike stadium naming rights as something worth "building" to from a PR standpoint. However, there is really only one name that I can think of that if held to end would really be a statement and a major PR win and bring major positive attention to the club. That name (i think it's obvious) has been knocked down however consistently by ITK.

Interesting times and should be hopefully a fun ride. I am certainly intrigued but also a little confused.

I think quite a few of us, including and especially those who are overseas fans and don't directly benefit from it like me, need to get behind the fact that the launch of the new stadium on its own is infinitely bigger than any signing this club has or probably ever will make.

Last time he said the exact same thing poch signed his new contract. With other itk it seems to be dele and eriksens contracts.

It's clear, we're making grounds to announce the signing of Bob the Builder, although Pulisic seems to be almost such as good.

Here is a happy buzz pill info for all:

Let me repeat this: Do not worry about stadium finances-BRILLIANT how it has been financed-as good as.

Next 12-24 months our turnover WILL be up there with the biggest clubs.

Funding creative initiative total success

I state again that there is a great amount of money to spend! I gave idea for people to grab. Rob is right in essence. Budget against ALL Poch’s targets been agreed from weeks ago.

Grealish I am strongly told, was always Poch’s number 1 for that area of the team.

Told very strongly, ‘statement signing/s will likely come nearer end of window’. This is in line with Trix’s exhaustive comments.

We now have one of the top scouting influential networks going.

There will be signings that some may have issues with. Not based on ability, but low key, if that makes sense.

Our signings in ability, much less potential is up there with the established. Just because it is a Grealish-type signing, should not take away from how smart we have been.

We won’t be bullied to pay over the odds, as some have recently found out, after agreeing deals with us.

I have just come back from a tour of new stadium etc. Wow! Wow! Wow!

We are in talks this very day with a player’s entourage. I said talks! Not he is going to sign!!!

I am very confident.

Thanks Hercules for the fascinating update !

The only downer for me is we seem to have accepted the signings will now be towards the end of the window when we were told previously Poch wanted them done early. Either it was unrealistic to expect early signings or we weren’t serious about doing what was necessary to achieve early signings.

If he gets a big move to Utd he’s played it rather well hasn’t he? Second player in a row to throw a wobbly and get Manchester money.

He hasn't got 'Manchester money' yet and I doubt they'll throw a huge wedge his way as things stand. Poch wants him out and nobody else is making a move so Utd hold quite a few aces as far as wages go.

Alli, Eriksen and Son are probably one of the worlds most expensive players.
We already have Moura and Lamela knocking on the first team door.
So it makes kind of sense to buy young, cheap potential (Grealish) instead of a direct rival (Martial).

Hope we do both...

Good info @Hercules , cheers!

I wonder if the bolded is one of these potential 'statement' signings mentioned, hope we can sweet talk them if so.

Whilst getting big signings later on isn't ideal, at least this year that is still before the season starts and everyone else's preseason is messed up due to the World Cup anyway. I can certainly live with that if it gets us the best quality possible.

I NEED to add something here for the manic depressive (joke) who thought done the usual. Feed fans hope, kill it with ‘reality’.

Had FFC lost, we would of agreed deal for Sess. And I am happy that they were promoted and kept him. Already shared my views on this. We then would of lost out on Greslish, whilst we quietly was waiting for the outcome. Sess would of as a total package been that c.50m player.

Martial was the other we wanted to get done early. But we see how that is panning out. That’s the only 3 names I am going public on.

A very optimistic post & I hope it comes to fruition, although I'm sure Poch is on record as saying he wanted new signing in early, so we could look to get a good start to the season, so bringing them late rather flies in the face of that.

It must be pretty frustrating dealing with some people on SC Herc but thanks for the updates and persevering in spite of the negative reactions. I am loving the info!

I'd think making the Dele and Eriksen announcements before the WC is up and running would make sense but I have no actual experience in the field!

Given that Dele is on every magazine cover and has posters plastered all over the tube at the moment, as well as the upcoming WC. It would make sense for his profile to get bigger and bigger over the summer and then announce it. If he and Eriksen have bright spells in the WC it will be seen as an even bigger win to get them to sign contract extensions - like "despite a great tournament and the choice of going anywhere in Europe Spurs have managed to tie them down to new deals - big statement". Also, if they played well and we try to cash in we have them on bigger contracts already so bigger sales figures. If they do nothing in the wc then lower key announcement and nobody outside of us cares too much. I wouldn't be surprised if we waited until after the wc in that case.
