please guys A&C provides this thread for us on a daily basis, to help keep us entertained, please don't ruin it. he get's diddly squat for doing all this work, and Rob pays a fortune to give us the Spurs Community Forum. every year near the closing of the window, A&C has to scramble around to get donations to help fund this site and the servers.

if you haven't set up a regular payment or made an early donation then please do so, and save A&C the extra work later.

Also if you disagree with what someone has posted in a joking way, but it has offended you, instead of taking this thread off topic, please PM the person instead of causing a war or argument in here please.

I'll give £20 on pay day. can someone rem ind me on the 28th June... My memory is Awful.

I’d love for us to pull Martial out of the fire, at ANY stage of the window. But it’s looking less and less likely.

I NEED to add something here for the manic depressive (joke) who thought done the usual. Feed fans hope, kill it with ‘reality’.

Had FFC lost, we would of agreed deal for Sess. And I am happy that they were promoted and kept him. Already shared my views on this. We then would of lost out on Greslish, whilst we quietly was waiting for the outcome. Sess would of as a total package been that c.50m player.

Martial was the other we wanted to get done early. But we see how that is panning out. That’s the only 3 names I am going public on.

In that case the club were being overly optimistic. Man U were always going to make it difficult for us to sign Martial, particularly early in the window.

Grealish I am strongly told, was always Poch’s number 1 for that area of the team.
Thanks for the info as always Herc. To be fair I have a feeling this signing could be inspired. I always believe that if any player has ability they always improve playing amongst players with superior ability. I think he will really surprise the naysayers.

And so...... the bi polar fraternity are happy again. But not to worry! Wrist slitting will recommence apace just as soon as we’re linked with someone “unacceptable”

Great @Hercules .. thank you. Seems we’re approaching all things Spurs with rationalised thinking. We can’t predict how other sellers are in the market, martial for example, so let’s focus on ‘our’ way of doing things - end of transfer window sits fine with me - if it happens; if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t..

Or the day we sell Toby to anyone for any amount of money at any point this window? That also seems to be high on the train to doomsville in these parts.

Please see long and informative post by Trix in the Grealish thread that explains carefully and well why “getting it done early or moving on” just is not possible with transfers for the very best players.

(It’s somewhere around page 55 but you can find it using the search function)

The fun thing is that Herc didn't say anything we wouldn't know before. Of course I'm grateful for every single piece of ITK, but it shows how little it takes to make people 'happy' again.

Yes I read Trix's post and it was very informative. I think in the case of Martial, signing him early in the window was always going to be extremely difficult. However I'd go further - signing him at any point in the window will be difficult. Man U it seems are reluctant to let him join us. I'll be very surprised if we end up getting him.

I like Grealish and am happy with our attacking mid options if we keep everyone.

We need a quality Striker, a CB and a world class CM to challenge though in my opinion

Their board seem incredibly reluctant to sell him to us, probably out of fear it'll be another De Bruyne/Salah situation from Jose. I thought the Mkhitaryan/Sanchez thing would have made this deal a bit more likely but they obviously hold Martial in much higher esteem.

Alli, Eriksen and Son are probably one of the worlds most expensive players.
We already have Moura and Lamela knocking on the first team door.
So it makes kind of sense to buy young, cheap potential (Grealish) instead of a direct rival (Martial).

Hope we do both...
Grealish and Martial are the same age though.

Edit: Martial is three months younger:)
