Julen Lopetegui confirmed as Real Madrid manager after the WC, let's hope he's more of a Ronaldo fan than a Bale fan.

Madrid have just announced the Spanish Coach Julen Lopetegui as their next coach after the World Cup. Not as clear how that will play into Bale's future as Herc's itk indicates as hiring AVB would probably have been. That seems a crucial factor in how that percentage needle moves and since he does not start until after the World Cup those of you expecting Bale back to be soon probably need to put your expectations on ice for a while.

The president will make the decisions on players not the coach.

I'm guessing it's more positive than anything. He's likely to be a big fan of Asensio and Isco as he manages and uses them for Spain. Ramos will probably be his mouthpiece and Ronaldo seems tight with him.

Very interesting that we started getting ITK on Bale just before the Madrid managerial appointment became public. Posters on Reddit are saying that Lopetegui is a massive fan of Asensio and especially Isco, who are obviously among Bale's biggest competition to get in the side. I still won't get my hopes up until the Ronaldo situation is resolved.

Isco seemed to be the one more likely for the exit door but maybe that appointment is enough for him to stay now. You'd think Lopetegui starts Isco like Zidane before him, and Bale said he'd leave for playing time. Like you said the next step is the Ronaldo future. Let's hope the rumours of £25m a year for CR to stay come true.

Do we not have some sort of first refusal on Bale? If so we could possibly use this as a way of softening manures stance on Martial. Give them a free run at Bale and deal with them for Toby and we may finally get our man.

My boss has a friend from school who works for Goldman Sachs who said that Bale has transferred €15 million into pounds. Could mean nothing but thought I'd post cos my excitement at the possibility he's coming home is unreal.

If Bale gets out of Madrid, I would say there is more chance of him going to United than us, given the deal size is concerned. Ofcourse, we have the first choice. Inspite of a positive ITK in some sense, I am skeptical on Levy to go the extra mile to get Bale

I believe we have 72 hours to match any offer made for Bale...

I don't think the right of first refusal is the key - its how much does RM want Bale out, and how much does Bale want to come back to Spurs.

If Madrid want Bale out - to either fund another purchase, say Neymar - or simply because they think he is a poor fit in the squad as a bench player - then Bale has all the leverage. Bale can choose not to leave, unless its to a team of his choice. Which brings us back to whether Bale would chose us, or more money and United.

Yeah he will probably need a bit of float if he comes back.

would united go big for him
They already cant play Martial and Rashford, if Rashford has a good world cup would be a massive kick if they then buy Bale as well
If they buy Bale then him and Sanchez will play, so will Lukaku, then its Martial,Rashford, Mata, Pogba, Matic, Herrera, Fred, Scottish bloke and Lingard for 3 spots

Bale is left footed and would play on their right. He is the perfect player for United's system.
