There was more to it than that, the movement was poor and it stifled our approach play and contributed to a lack of invention many a time.

Suarez is nothing like Defoe, its a ridiculous comparison.

Did I say Suarez was anything like Defoe? The overwhelming complaint last season was that our strikeforce wasn't scoring. In that respect, Suarez was no better than Defoe, for the simple reason that it's easy to look great against the deadbeats and bozos of the Eredivisie.

I really hope defoe stays and comes back sharp hungry and banging in goals. The sheer lack of support for the guy on the back of an injury ravaged (poor by his standards) season is simply embarassing

It's not like we've not given him a chance. We've had to endure 8 seasons of his hapless blast shooting, one-dimensionalness and record breaking offsideness.

That's a bit strong/rude isn't it mate?

Yes I do think before I post, check my rep!

Levy does the buying, agreed, but what do you think a DoF does? He identifies and talks to players, he uses his contacts to help us identify and secure the targets. How hard is Harry finding being so removed from the process after being directly involved for his entire career? How closely is he working with Levy to identify players? Our 2 best signings last year didn't come from Harry, what does that tell you?

I'm not saying I'm right, its just my opinion, but question whether I think before I post demonstrates that you clearly don't do much thinking at all chum!

Levy is the DoF - your argument basically suggests that rather than Harry leaving, you think that Levy should. Yet at the same time you think Levy is responsible for our 2 best, most recent signings. all I can tell from that is that you're unhappy with the situation and you think heads should roll. Why?

I couldn't care less what your rep says - it just means you are capable of saying stuff other people are happy to hear, a form of mimicry, like a parrot. People who think aren't necessarily liked - Take BC for example - but I damn well respect his ability to give reason to his argument. His rational opinion is worth listening to; He shows you his thinking not just his thoughts. Take note.

defoe has goals in him but he is extremely selfish and its all me me me.. imo if he scores goals and team loses i dont think he cares but thats only my opinion. for me he is not a team player in any sense and for that reason alone he wud be out if we had top striker brought in. ALso the fact that he is constantly offside shows a real lack of intelligence to even try n stop this!!! its beyond a joke

been a striker is tough and when you get your cahnce you simply have to take it. no questions asked , thats the bottom line. too many times our strikers fail to hit the mark on many fronts..

we need improvements and the fact that defoe is cribbing already that he will look for a loan if he cant get game, meaning he will look for loan if we get top striker in, should ring alarm bells in every fan and supporter of spurs to what defoe's character is all about

I totally agree.... But, he's the one striker of our lot i'd keep... Reason?: Cos he is capable of banging a few goals. Pav is a better finisher but offers notihing else at all, Crouch has height, Defoe can and has scored lots in the Prem.

That kinda shows how bad our strikers are tho, right?

More of a baked Alaska man myself.

Still, it was 10x more interesting reading that, than 30+ pages of how THFC is apparently on the cusp of extinction if we don't buy an uber striker in the next 7minutes.

Made me hungry now, you git!

And we've only had to endure three seasons of your garbage. Although it seems like thirty-three.
