All the press this morning alludes to many of the players agreeing with Rose and him heading to Utd. Experience has taught me that despite what the naysayers on this site may say, the press is usually correct.

If I had to guess, Rose and Dier are the main two that would like to follow Walker out the door to Manchester.

Everton have got themselves into quite the unenviable position there. Makes you wonder why Koeman was so desperate to confirm Barkley's exit - quite clearly that would weaken their bargaining power.

I genuinely feel we may have dodged a bullet on Balde, we've just seen how a billy big bollocks (Danny) can really upset the apple cart (even if he's saying what a lot of fans are thinking), Balde has history of not working hard enough, demanding higher wages or moves and genuinely being a trouble maker. Are those things truly behind him?

He definitely has the attributes we should be after and in his last year of contract will be cheaper and attractive to Levy but it could be a case of more trouble than the obvious talent he has at his disposal, would he be worth it?

Maybe I'm clutching at straws or trying to find a silver lining......

Apart from the hysteria and rampant speculation on here, I'm not aware of any apple cart being upset. Unlike Rose, it seems to being dealt with behind closed doors.

Just to clarify, you really really don't have to guess. Especially in this thread.

I can't help but continually think about the two bits of ITK below that A&C has cited in the past year concerning potential agitation of Pochettino towards Levy's transfer dealings:

The above post from A&C was from last November and referenced transfer dealings from last summer. Then there was this from last month, which A&C noted was from a source that had proven very reliable in the past:

Levy really needs to get the next three weeks spot-on for the sake of keeping our top class manager content. If he doesn't, I really worry about Poch taking the PSG job in 10 months time. Emery has no business managing what is turning into a super team at a club Poch was captain at and still loves, and Al-Khelafi has shown this summer that no one is unobtainable for them. Poch clearly isn't asking for much. A few quality signings to make sure we aren't humiliated in the Champions League again. I don't think that's too much to ask for, is it?

I would 'winner' this ten times if I could. The last bit is very true and very worrying should DL fail to deliver.

The man himself has literally said the words "we are calm" and "we will bring in players" in the last couple of days.

What is seemingly too much to ask for is a bit of patience, an acknowledgment of our actual financial situation (in comparison to the other Top 6/7 teams) and a semblance of thinking about the bigger picture.

Good news about Barkley incoming. I wonder though, if the Gylfi deal goes pear shaped, will we still be able to get him?
Reckon we'll still get him, 1 year on his contract left and refusing to sign a new one. Guess Everton are just using him for bargaining power.

The sun says Rose got a hero's welcome at training yesterday, ask yourself seriously, is that really likely? Another story said our players are queuing up to leave, again ask yourself, is that really likely?

ITK states 3 signings plus the keeper.
We currently have a 1st team squad of just 21 players, so makes sense that's what we're aiming to bring in.
I'm frustrated about the delay, but it appears that was always the plan, and outwardly Poch seems onboard.
Staying positive.

This is exactly what Poch said in an interview with the BBC to be fair. He wants a signing for each line - I would guess Gazzaniga or Lopes, CB/RB, Barkley and an attacking player.

How can people say its a disappointing window for us??? It's still open. On the 1st of September if its still the same then rant and rave. Yes we all want players in early, but its not a perfect world, if it was the Oil clubs would be sanctioned with points deductions etc but its not a perfect world.

ITK has always pointed to a long play on the Barkley transfer. He wants to leave, but Everton won't sell him as it weakens their position with Swansea, and if the Siggy deal doesn't come off they are in a slightly stronger posiiton re: Barkley.

Cheezus its like dealing with pre-schoolers in here, I don't envy @Archibald&Crooks at all.

Going from the late night goat info, I guess Barkley has heard Poch can turn him into an England regular so he can then fuck him off and get paid what he's worth else where... maybe DL will start implementing a 'training' fee? ;)

I hear you...but don't we hear that every summer...that we are confident of getting the players we want and then something happens and we don't end up signing them?

Who is this Ross Barkley...... I'll google him and find out.

Good news though and makes sense that Everton hold out until they sign Gylfi.

It feels more and more like the Barkley deal will be done soon. Thats a good addition.

The Davison Sanchez story has been "kind of" corroborated by a JJ smiley so seems like that one has some legs. Adding him would be a very good signing IMO. Massive future ahead of him, looks a real talent.

Trix has alluded to possible renewed interest in Mahrez which suggests that we're now looking at an alternative to Balde - assuming that one is still dead in the water.

We also know from previous ITK that right back is an area we intend to strengthen so my personal view is that we will certainly add at least 4 new players at RB, CB, CAM and WF.

In addition we're likely to add a 3rd GK and I think there could also be a late (i.e. deadline day) move for a 3rd striker option as that has also been suggested by ITK's in the past.

If we manage all of that, which doesn't seem too far fetched, then I'll be a happy man.

Like the Goat itk, hating the back pages of the papers today. Love the fact this place is split right down the middle between the diehard BSoDL & the knicker wetters that are wrist slitting as we speak with the TW still open. We'll find out in a few weeks which of those 2 camps is giving it the "I told you so's" I guess.

Every club has this. Every club's internet forums have the same sort of people on it with the "it only happens to us" mentality. As soon as we acknowledge that it's how it all works for everyone (and drop the victim mentality) the better.

Although I agree with you Stoof, that is the party line and he's not exactly going to say he's panicking because we haven't signed anyone.

It's a great shame that Rose appears to fail to recognise that Spurs (Poch) took him from a £2m player to a £60m player. On the other hand it's great to hear that Ross can see what Spurs can do for his career

Spot on. Furthermore, I believe, it's only my own view, that Pochettino is constantly repeating this line in the media to put pressure on Levy. That's the difference between Rose's and Pochettino's media presence. Pochettino goes "the club will sign players". Sounds elegant and congenial, doesn't it? But repeating that every other day equals direct pressure on Levy, in that friendly-huggable bear kind of way. Rose goes "the clubs must do what I think is best or I'm off back home to my mum or to Chelsea or somewhere". That's the shite that in fact doesn't exert pressure at all. It only leaves us all with a bitter taste in the mouth.
