Good to see the Goat confirming what Trix has been saying consistently for weeks if not months. Maybe some of you can stop having a breakdown over Barkley every time it goes 12 hours without being completed? (Optimistic ratings incoming...)

ITK states 3 signings plus the keeper.
We currently have a 1st team squad of just 21 players, so makes sense that's what we're aiming to bring in.
I'm frustrated about the delay, but it appears that was always the plan, and outwardly Poch seems onboard.
Staying positive.

Get Barkley done, sign a RB (Pereira, Henrichs, Toljan, etc), and snag Davinson Sanchez. In my eyes this would make a very disappointing window much better. I also believe that part of what Rose is saying should be looked upon. Give our key players the money that would be made at a Manchester club, I understand what and who we are working with but if we want to keep our best side in god knows how many years, money has to be invested in our players.

Surely they'd be another forward player to follow. Poch obviously wants another after missing out on that Balde fella.

People are the most important part of any company and player s and managers are the most important part of any football club.
Invest well in these players and the management team and then add a few where required we will have a happy squad that WILL succeed in the near future.
People rocking the boat usually have an agenda and should be harshly dealt with!
The latest itk is great so let's hope it all goes well in the next few weeks

The more I think about it, the more I think we should cash in on the little prick now and not risk him getting the Hossam Ghaly treatment from fans and being flogged on the cheap in January.

Good ITK news on Barkley, makes a lot of sense, especially if there is a percentage that we get on Sigurdsson. :)

Really pleased to see the latest ITK, hopefully will calm a few jitters at the stories in today's press, direct contradictions.
Koeman's words yesterday probably for Swansea benefit rather than ours going by the goat's bleat.

Yeah I thought this too, it would make a lot of sense.

No benefit for Everton to say they've got £30m on the table for Barkley.

We've seen what happens when clubs are open about how much disposable cash they've got - they end up getting charged £50m for Kyle Walker

Common guys let's keep the faith in our players and the Poch as well as DL. I'm sure the management all want to succeed and get the club forward. If Poch has said that they are working on players incoming, believe.

Just a note on players feelings, at the premier league launch on Wednesday Vertonghen and Dembele were both very positive, I know they were expected to say the right things but their whole demeanour was good, calm, happy. Certainly not the picture Rose paints so I wouldn't be surprised if one or two of the players had a word with him.

I can't help but continually think about the two bits of ITK below that A&C has cited in the past year concerning potential agitation of Pochettino towards Levy's transfer dealings:

Had it not been for the massive dragging of heels our summer signings would have been a LOT more acceptable and sensible. Levy panicked when he got it wrong and realised what the consequences were going to be, think about it, how Levylike is it for him to make a last minute signing and STILL pay over the top? Its completely against type. He shat himself.

And Poch stated he wanted his summer dealings done early..........Things weren't right at chez lane

I still say that it wouldn't surprise me if we were looking for a new manager come the end of the season.

The above post from A&C was from last November and referenced transfer dealings from last summer. Then there was this from last month, which A&C noted was from a source that had proven very reliable in the past:

The Goat said:
Here's the latest across the Goat's horns.........

Whilst Pochettino understands that we can't sign big stars, he's getting increasingly frustrated that targets agreed to are not being delivered, despite these players being entirely affordable, within our range and agreeing to come. In fact is a number of cases fees have actually been agreed.

He's not getting his choices with some regularity and things aren't at all well between him and the bald man who offers up signings that Poch just doesn't want. He'll continue to say the right things for now but unless things change soon, at some point we'll start to see stories appearing in the media. The Goat's source guesses we might get another season from him at best unless things dramatically improve. But that's just a guess.

The players don't see the new ground as the be all and end all, they want to see ambition to go along with it and as for the wages thing, this isn't player greed, its promises being made and then broken. A number of players are only still here because of Pochettino and if he goes this could all turn very quickly into a nightmare for the man at the top with the majority of our top names leaving.........unless he (once again) makes moves to fix things. He has a VERY accomplished PR or 'spin' department.

On the good news front, a fee for Barkley has been agreed for some while at 20m but soured by last minute changes to deal structure instigated by the man at the top, so it may or may not happen.......and this isn't the first time, there's a long list of deals that never came off due to these last minute attempts to squeeze a bit out of a deal......... Lemar, Batshuayi, Berahino and going further back even Willian etc etc......The Goat hears that the failure to sign these players is down to one man.

Levy really needs to get the next three weeks spot-on for the sake of keeping our top class manager content. If he doesn't, I really worry about Poch taking the PSG job in 10 months time. Emery has no business managing what is turning into a super team at a club Poch was captain at and still loves, and Al-Khelafi has shown this summer that no one is unobtainable for them. Poch clearly isn't asking for much. A few quality signings to make sure we aren't humiliated in the Champions League again. I don't think that's too much to ask for, is it?

I think the general consensus, from Gards especially is that the 3rd choice GK doesn't count towards these 3-4 players being banded around.

I genuinely feel we may have dodged a bullet on Balde, we've just seen how a billy big bollocks (Danny) can really upset the apple cart (even if he's saying what a lot of fans are thinking), Balde has history of not working hard enough, demanding higher wages or moves and genuinely being a trouble maker. Are those things truly behind him?

He definitely has the attributes we should be after and in his last year of contract will be cheaper and attractive to Levy but it could be a case of more trouble than the obvious talent he has at his disposal, would he be worth it?

Maybe I'm clutching at straws or trying to find a silver lining......

We'll never in a million years sign a player as good as Rose has been last couple of years so i fail to see where your excitement stems from.

Good news about Barkley incoming. I wonder though, if the Gylfi deal goes pear shaped, will we still be able to get him?
