Walker for Perreira and Barkley I can live with.

Perreira looks to have great pace and attacking skills, my only worry is he looks a little lightweight.

Barkley will give us depth to go from CL or PL matches, and could be a revelation if Poch can get into his head.

I've said it before, but the second half of this season, Trippier got a lot of important minutes and Rose was totally absent. Yet we managed to win 12 of our last 13 matches. Our attacked has matured and we aren't as reliant as we used to be on fullbacks in attack. I think Pereira is a good replacement for Walker. Also, at 23, he's a good bridge between Trippier (26) and KWP (20)

The only way we should be willing to "live with" Walker leaving is if Poch has decided that Trippier or incoming RB is better than Walker. If we are selling to raise funds to be able to buy Barkley then I can't live with that.
But that is clearly not why we are selling. As has been often reported and ITK'd there was a falling out. That is why Walker is going. As Poch said we will not sell anyone we don't want to sell.

But re: the ITK I do hope the ''Walker money" will be used to get Barkley and Perreira. Improves out collective technical ability, dynamism in possession, and tactical flexibility. Would be great business. Hard to see it now for some but I do believe it would improve us absolutely and relatively.

And as far as your post about incomings and getting better I feel that the attributes Perreira seems to have may be more beneficial to us. I love Walker and how hard he plays the game for us. There is no stronger (physically) right back in European footie. But I definitely see where his limitations are and how they affect the team. Perreira doesn't have those technical deficiencies.

No matter what we still need a forward ideally with pace. Can't risk another bad Kane injury, relying on jansson clicking.

Not buying another forward would be madness especially playing our home games at Wembley. Will need something different in games

Agreed, but I expect that to become an option once Sissoko's future is resolved (i.e. Sold). We tend to do a balancing act.
Walker out, fee used to buy Pereira (maybe) to replace him, plus Barkley. Books fairly well balanced. Assuming those are the two Ghostofarmo is talking about.
Sissoko out, additional forward player signed, Barkley already in situ for AM. Books fairly well balanced.
Wimmer out (maybe), new LCB signed. Etc etc.

Only further signings likely to be Foyth and Lopez, who would arguably be covered by sales of Bentaleb, Njie, Carroll, Fazio etc.

As pleased as I'd be to see two promising young prospects like Foyth and Lopez arrive this summer, I'd be a bit underwhelmed if they were the two bought right after Walkers departure. I'd be hoping for someone a bit more in line with showing ambition off the back of a player of the reputation of Walker outgoing.

We all knew it was coming, but even so, I can't help but feel sad that Walker is leaving. He's one of the best right backs in the world and the fact he's off, most likely too City, makes me feel even worse. I ,personally, can't see us getting a replacement and I just don't have faith in Trippier and KWP over a whole season. The loss of speed alone down the right wing will be sorely missed in my opinion. It's also the mental thought that, although the team maybe needed a tweak here and there, our defence was perfect. Shame to be braking it up.

don't think it is a question of selling Walker to get funds for other transfers - it certainly appears that something happened last season to suggest that Poch no longer thought he was a necessity.

Hopefully the price being paid by Man City is more than even we originally envisaged - and this together with other funds will allow us to improve first team squad, and not just potential squad

cabinessence says he'll meet his contact tomorrow, says he'll ask and pass on, so probably some 'rock solid' to look forward to then

Reads to me that we are holding back the sale of Walker to keep the Barkley price down
pretty sure Everton know Walker is off. If half of spurs community know I'm pretty sure top agents are hearing, I think we are more likely waiting nearer deadline day to scare Everton that they might get nowt for him. Cue Arsenal to beat us to him.

Why? That's what we've been doing the last 3-4 years, selling players and making the squad better. If Poch thinks he can live without Walker and we can bring in two players with his money, it's good business.

Walker is a player we can afford to cash in on because Trippier did so well in his place. If Walker is off then he has been excellent for a long time for us. A true athlete who doesn't stop running. Not the most reliable defensively but often recovers his mistakes with his pace. He and Rose were so crucial for us earlier in the season but it's crazy how quickly things change. For me Trippier has more end product and that is the key difference. Got a feeling we'll go 3 at the back more this season and push Trips on so he can get those crosses in.

Hopefully we get competition for Trips though in the form of another experienced right back. Still think Walker-Peters is a bit young at this time but who knows maybe he will get his chance. If that's the case then we can spend on a midfielder and attacker instead. Add the 2 young prospects Pau and Foyth and our window suddenly looks good.

1.An absolutely obscene amount of money £60m/£70m.
2.Barkley.
3.A quality right/wing back replacement.

Selling any player to a rival hurts badly.
I'm now finally resigned to losing Walker.
However, those 3 options at the top happening because of the Walker deal would ease the pain.

And as long as Pochettino is 100% behind this decision then so be it...

If it's Walker out and Barkley and Perreira in for the same money, that's great business. As good as Walker has been for us at times, he's also been equally painful at times. His head was obviously gone before the West Ham game, and it was a bad decision to play him because when he's not concentrating, he can be a massive liability. From that game alone, and the way he played, I feel we can do without that.

I know that even in the most mundane of jobs, if an equal (or slightly better) employer shows interest in you and will pay double your wages, that will turn your head, so I don't blame him, I just wish he'd shown more professionalism to finish his season properly. He wasn't going to move immediately, so why get involved in even thinking about it?

Got to assume Rebrab's info was based on Walker being off too, a catalyst if you will.

Scout's info always worth a lot of attention.

I'm expecting it to be Barkley and Pereira, although the latter has gone very quiet. I'm hoping for something cool from left field in a Son style though. Weirdly I'm more concerned about attacking options than a Walker replacement, probably because we have Trippier already and KWP in the wings...

I really hope Pau and Foyth don't qualify for the two in, the latter because it seems he will not be joining immediately.

would city sell to us.... no, why sell to them, we don't need the money, well just be strengthening city, and they will want to weaken us from this... be sure of it

Yeah, I know what you're saying, but they're pretty much buying the one player that, if I had to sell a first 11 player, it would be him. I also don't think they'll get the confident Walker, one or two things don't go his way, and he's a different player. That could de-rail them, especially if they only buy him for rb.

Walker has only come of age under Poch. Before that he was a good full back with terrible concentration levels.

Who's to say he won't go back to that level of performance?

No chance Foyth and Pau qualify as the 2 because they wouldn't be bought with the impending Walker money. To me the 2 have to equate to the sort of money Walker is sold for. Most likely Barkley and one other.

I don't want us to sell Walker to Man City.
I'd rather tell City to fuck off and keep him. I've been adamant that we cannot sell to a rival full stop.
But from the itk it looks like we are. I just hope we can get a good deal and make our squad stronger, but like you I have real doubts that we will.
