Paul had info last summer if I remember correct. Some pretty solid info. The irony in my post is that I can't remember what player it was in relation too, but he was spot on from what I remember.

Now, back to my Faustino Rioja in my not so cosy bed in Majorca.

We're signing Spit the dog? Or is that a position from Ashley Coles book of love?

You don't think he'd swap a player he didn't rate enough to use for one he'd tried to sign several times ? I'm not so sure.

Depends when he'd tried to sign him before. If it was pre-Champions League challenging Spurs then maybe he'd not have been as keen to do the deal at time and would have rather kept Bassong.

Let's move on though eh, it's less relevant than Global Warming.

The one argument I would make towards that quote is that if he had senior players complaining about KPB, when he was trying to adjust to a new club, then perhaps he took them at their word. He was dealing with a relegation battle and took decisive action. I bet QPR wished he could have acted in such a way

Yeah I'll admit to not thinking it could have been senior players who had told him that. However, still, what top man manager doesn't try for himself? Was Adebayor not 'baggage/ego/attitude' etc etc? Was Taarabt not the same (when he finally got to work with him properly at QPR)? Is HR not renowned for getting 'broken' or 'over the hill' players, to perform? I'm not at all dismissing your argument or opinion, HS. What I am dismissing is a 'professional football manager' not making his own decision about a professional footballer.

That man (HR) is the only manager in our history who has allowed us the opportunity to listen to that music (you know what I mean there), for that I'll be eternally grateful. That said, I simply can't turn a blind eye to what appears gross incompetence. It's like you & I being offered a promotion to a big company, as a manager, massive wage boost, excellent career prospects etc etc. Then phoning up the people who have worked there for a while, then asking them who we should get rid of. There'd be nothing to suggest these people (the ones we were told we should get rid of) couldn't do their job better than the people who don't like them. We'd just be getting rid of them because they aren't popular.

Call me old fashioned but, everyone deserves a chance to prove their worth. If you see promise in something, you attempt to make it realise that promise. When you've exhausted all options, then you decide it's best for all parties to move on. If you & I were trying to adjust to a new job, as a boss, we'd surely like to give EVERYBODY an equal chance? Especially when millions of pounds are involved. We ended up with around £4mil for Boateng, what would you say his value has peaked at since he was cast aside on the say-so of somebody else? I'd say potentially quadruple that fee, at least.

they did an art attack for art attack in one of our fields when I was a kid. Filmed at Maidstone studios, and we lived nearby.

Neil Buchanan came and did a big snail that viewers saw from a birds eye view (or crane). He did all the huge snail himself too - no flunkeys!

I think I remember the snail! Loved Art Attack :)

I think he was referring to when he was at Pompey when he tried to sign him before not spurs

If Parker and Livermore are leaving we have to buy a defensive midfielder (with passing skills :geek: )
